Can Sertraline 100 mg tablets be cut in to four pieces and still be effective? My doctor has given me the okay to try different dosages. 50 mg is not enough and I would like to try 75 mg but Sertraline does not come in that dosage. I have 100 mg tablets and want to break them in half and then cut some of the havles in half to get 75 mg. Will doing this cause a problem with how effective the medication is? ## There is nothing special about the tablets that will affect the medication if you cut them further, as long as your doctor has okayed it. Learn more Sertraline details here. However, there is a 25mg dosage available, so it may be easier just to ask your doctor to prescribe a couple of them, so you can be more precise about the dosage. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Th...

For the last 2 weeks or so my anxiety has kicked way back up. I had just refilled my sertraline Rx and was wondering if I might have received a counterfeit batch Is there some way to tell? ## Hello, Did you refill the Sertraline (a.k.a Zoloft) at a pharmacy you've used before, or did you use a new pharmacy? If you refilled your medication at an online pharmacy, there is a chance that it could be a generic or different in some way since not all online pharmacies can be trusted. If you post back with information about the pill's color, markings, shape etc.. I could search around and see if it could possibly be fake. My only other guess is that you could, just now, be experiencing some side effects. Based on my research, Sertraline can cause changes in behavior like anxiety. I woul...

I need to know the name of the pill ## Is it possible that your pill says "M 52" as opposed to M 57? The closest match I could find for M57 is a white oblong shaped pill. I'm 50 years old and have been on Sertraline since about 1995 to 1997. I finally came to the conclusion that I am better off without it. (I know. I'm not sure why I stayed on it for so long) I have seen a lot of information on the Internet to finally make me cynical of the medical "profession" and the drug "community" to make me realize that it's a multi-billion dollar business. As this is my tenth day after I took the very last dose, I still do feel a little lightheaded, but much better than last week when I had some headaches, diarrhea, and a felt a little nervous. I have read this forum and really hurt to think some people are addicted to this drug, and many others, but cannot stop. My heart goes out to you. For every 100 people with a question here, it se...
getting severe headaches in the evenings, some worse than others. Is this due to this medication? ## Headaches are actually listed as a side effect of Sertraline. Referenced from: If it's becoming too bothersome or severe, I would strongly suggest looking into some natural alternatives or opting for a different medication. You have to keep in mind though that all prescription drugs are going to pose the risk of side effects; so in my opinion, natural is the way to go, depending upon your reasoning for taking Sertraline. I hope this info helps!
Hi, I started taking Sertraline HCL around December. My doctor, like routine started me at a low dosage and began steadily increasing it. I was up to, I believe, 125mg (around February) when I stopped taking it abruptly for some reason. However, during the months following, I continued to go to my doctor. I lied to her telling her I was still taking the pills when I wasn't and she kept increasing the dosage. I was too nervous to tell her the truth; which I feel bad about now. So, now it's August and school is coming back I'm having some bad anxiety. I still have the prescriptions she gave me and I am really considering starting back on it. However, I don't want to increase the cause of side effects or possibly overdose because it's not in my system anymore. What shou...
