I have been taking half a tab of Seloken XL 25mg each morning for the last 3 years for high bp and my bp remains 130/90. Do I need to continue taking this or should I consult my doc for a change of medicine?

Seloken XL contains the active ingredient Metoprolol in a time release formulation, it is most commonly used to help control high blood pressure.

You definitely need to keep taking the medication and consult with your doctor regarding any changes.

That is still not a normal blood pressure reading and stopping this medication abruptly can cause severe health problems, such as sudden blood pressure spikes, cardiac problems and heart attacks.
