My dr. said my rash is scabies and gave me permthrin also,no luck.how do you know its scabies for sure? I'm wondering if mine is something else?

its almost impossible to get drs. to diagnose these mites tha way medical journals say to. they r very obstinate

I've recently visited the ER due to continued itchy rash & due to it going around in the area they prescribed the same along with anti-inflamatory a week has past and still itchy rash, Im wondering if I was properly diagnosed as well...signed, itchy scratchy!

I know this is an old post, however maybe i can help someone, since i had scabies on and off for about a year and a half. This is not in any way professional help. This is only what worked for me, having tried everything on the internet and received a doctor's help as well. I used a dogs treatment that cost 15 dollars. At first i had my doubts but if you have scabies im sure you're willing to try anything like i was. After trying permethrin creams, permethrin pills, tree oil, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and idk how many more "tricks". Just google "dog mange dip" - in the front it says flea tick and mange dip with a picture of brown dog. It's a pint and has a weird two bottle container, one being a small bottle on the top. I mixed about less than the cap-full into a regular size bottle of water then applied it to the rashes. It itches for a while then stops. Don't need to use much, just very little in a lot of water and this works magic. I'm pretty sure it's not healthy but if it got them to go away id do it again and again. You might want to repeat this every other two to three days and you should see the rashes form little scabs, that means it's working. I only had to do it like three times in a week and I was enjoying scabies free life. I would still add some when i got any little bumps and itching just to be sure. Sprayed a little on my bed and blankets, let them dry, then washed them. WORKED!! Do this at your own risk but I'm sharing my experience because these things haunted me and when i felt hopeless this product saved me.

I'm pretty sure I've got scabies. Haven't had it diagnosed by a doctor yet. But from everything I've researched that's what it's coming down to. Can fluocinonide be used to stop a scabies infection?

Try taking Albendazole (Zentel) tablets, 800mg per day, for 3 consecutive days if your scabies rash persists. Additionally, consider using Permethrin cream, along with Salicylic Acid cream, three times a week for topical application. You should also shower using Ketoconazole shampoo.
