Samitrogen Azitromicina 500 Mg (Top voted first)

I got a prescription from Mexico with 6 capsules in it, sealed, but it says 500 mg on it. How am I supposed to administer these? Taking 1000 mg the first day? and the rest one at a time a day after that?

Samitrogen 500mg capsules, which is the generic for Azithromycin 500mg capsules, comes in bottles of intervals of 3-500mg. capsules. So the bottles will come with 3,6,9. . . capsules. This is because the correct dose is to take 1-500mg capsule for 3 days. You do not need to take 2-500 mg capsules the first day. This is commonly mistaken because the original Z-Pack in the U.S. and mexico comes/came with 6-250mg capsules. In this case, you take 2-250mg capsules the 1st day and then 1-250mg capsule for the next 4 days. This is the RECOMMENDED DOSE. It is always good to consult a doctor though especially if the infection is very bad. They may increase the RECOMMENDED DOSE.

Yes, it contains the active ingredient Azithromycin and the package you mentioned is used just like a Z-Pak, 2 the first day, then one each day after, until you finish them.

This antibiotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, drowsiness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

In my poor Spanish I went to a pharmacy in Mexico looking for Vermox. I understand Vermox is something one should take upon return from these areas for a stomach parasite a person might have gotten. I came away with 6 capsules of 500 mg Samitrogen Azitromicina. Is this a feasible substitute for what I wanted or did my Spanglish do me in again.

I bought a bottle of Azitromicina in Mexico too but my bottle has 9 pills. I took 2 the first day (which worked very well) but curious if I should continue to take one a day and use all 9 up or not? I had been told they usually come in 6 to a bottle just like the original post.
