Samitrogen (azithromycin) Usage (Top voted first)

Thinking I have an abscessed tooth. I have samitrogen on hand purchased in Mexico. Sell by date is Sep 2014. Are these still safe to take?

Unfortunately, I am not sure. Mexico does not regulate their medications like the U.S., so I don't know if that is an expiration date, or if it is still effective for awhile after that.

It would be best to see your dentist, so he can prescribe an antibiotic for you, if one is required. Additionally, even after taking an antibiotic, you'll need to have the underlying cause of the infection treated, or it will keep returning.

The FDA lists the typical side effects to antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and dehydration.

Does anyone know how the expirations work in Mexico?

Could you get diarrhea within 4 hours of taking 1000mg of Samitrogen (Azithromycin)? I took the 2 pills equaling 1000 Mg and for hours later I had uncontrollable diarrhea. Could it be from the Samitrogen?
