Synthroid Is It Gluten Free?

I have celiac disease and my endo doc recently switched me from Levoxyl to Synthroid. I have read that Synthroid is not guaranteed to be gluten free.

Anyone have the answer?

They both contain the active ingredient Levothyroxine, so you really haven't been switched from one medication to another, your doctor just used a different name brand for it.

As to whether or not it is gluten free, that's going to depend on which one you receive from your pharmacy.

Do you know if they usually give you the name brand or a generic?
