Smz/tmp Ds 800 160 Tab For An Abscess?

Everything that I'm reading about Smz/Tmp 800 is freaking me out! Now I don't think that I want to take it! Anyway I was wondering if it will work on an abscess? Please, any help would be great!

I took it for 9 days. I am so sick, nausea and vomiting, chills, stomach hurts, dizzy and can't eat, weak. I'm afraid to take the 10th and last dose. I am so sick all of the time.

I understand your concern, since it is a sulfa based antibiotic, it can cause some problematic side effects in some people that take it and about 3% are allergic to it.

I had a bad experience with it myself and can't take it, again.

However, the percentage that have problems with it is actually a very small number and the greater amount of people take it without experiencing any problems.

Its regular side effects are no different than any other antibiotic and may include nausea, dizziness, non-alelrgic skin rash and diarrhea.

The best advice I can give you is that if you're afraid to take it, then talk to your doctor. They can help you make the most informed decision about whether or not it is safe for you and they may even be able to provide you with an alternative antibiotic.
