Rules And Reg. Regarding Pregnant Women And Subutex And Detoxing

I need to know if ANYONE has any information regarding KY state regulations of the detoxing and administration of Subutex with pregnant women. Can an MD pull the prescription without warning from a pregnant woman? what are the side effects of withdrawal from this with mother/child in last trimester?

If the woman is not in immediate, life threatening danger, then no doctor is required to treat her, or prescribe any medication, even if she is pregnant.

A doctor has the right to discontinue treating a patient, or prescribing any medications, at any time they deem appropriate. The same as the right as patient has to decide they no longer want to see that doctor, or stop taking any given prescribed medication.

The only time treatment is obligated from a medical profession would be if her life and/or the life of the baby were in danger.

I am sorry about what she is going through, since it's obviously a bad situation, but these are the facts of the matter.

As to the withdrawals, it really is going to depend on how much of a dosage she was on. She could experience some problems that may also endanger the baby, but if that occurs, she should go to her nearest ER, where they are obligated to treat her.
