Ru-hist Discontinued (Top voted first)

I have tried to find specifics as to why this medication was discontinued, with no results. I am a life time suffer of sinusitis and for 3 solid years, this is the only medication that kept me OFF of continuous antibiotics for sinus infections. My insurance won't pay for sinus surgery and I have tried virtually EVERYTHING on the market. Nothing works like the Ru-hist Forte did. Can someone help me?

I'm sorry that you're having such issues, that's awful.

From what I can find, it seems that it was due to the Pyrilamine in it, it's just been replaced with newer antihistamines that have been shown to be more effective and to cause less side effects. Thus, it was no longer selling well and the manufacture of it has been discontinued.

Have you talked to your doctor to see if they know of a good alternative you can use?

Yes, we have tried several.different drugs, both precription & OTC. Do you by chance know the name of the medications that took the place of Pyrilamine?

I've tried eda Hist. It is supposed to have replaced Ru Hist. It isn't as good and is not as effective. I'd really like to find my old RuHist.
