Why is it so hard to get my prescription filled??

Unfortunately, since Oxycodone is such a potent narcotic, its rates of abuse and diversion have only continued to grow over the years and this has resulted in many pharmacies deciding not to carry it, because of the risk of being robbed.

One thing you want to make sure you do, when looking to get this type of prescription filled, is to make sure you actually go into the pharmacies, with the prescription in hand, so they can see that you are a legitimate customer.

If you are just calling around to ask, they have no way of knowing if you are a real customer or a possible thief, so most pharmacies will not give you a correct answer, they will just automatically say they don't carry it.

If you continue to have trouble finding a pharmacy to fill it, you may want to talk to your doctor about using an alternative medication. Morphine is available in the same forms that Oxycodone is, regular release, time release and instant release:
