This really sounds like some type of neuropathic pain.

Has your doctor diagnosed what it causing it?

Have they had you try any of the medications that can specifically help with this type of problem?

There are several on the market, such as Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that has also been proven to help with neuropathic pain.
