Okay, I just had a baby on the 14th of june. I had intercourse on july 6th. I did get prescribed metronidazole and got plan b. I took both at the same time. Can I still get pregnant? I'm finishing a 7 day, 3 X a day, 500 mg dose of flagyl/metronidazole because I was having pain under the right side of my ribs, abdominal tenderness and I have a lump on the right side of my back which the doc said was muscular. My worst symptoms of the meds were some unsteadiness and abdominal pains (I didn't call my Dr.), now I'm having a few headaches. Does it cause brain cancer, because I read it is carcinogenic? ## If it did cause such an issue, it would not occur that fast. Cancer is generally slow growing. Can flagyl be used for upper respiratory infections like a cough or bad cold? ## flagyl is technically used for stomach and bowel problems and usually used for bacterial infections within your gastrointestinal tract. My Dr prescribed Adco-Metronida 400mg for me to take 1x3 and I just took my last dosage for the day. I then had a cup of coffee and I started vomiting. Does this mean that I can't consume coffee until the treatment is finished? ## Have you been taking them with food or on an empty stomach? Hi. So in efforts to get pregnant my husband and i have increased sexual activity. I started noticing irritation when I urinated and thought it was a uti. Yesterday when the irritation increased after urinating into more of a bv situation, I took some Metronidazole pills I had already. Problem is I only had 3 tabs, so I took those every 8 hours. I was given penicillin vk for 7 days for a dental infection that lingered after a molar was removed. Two days after I finished the penicillin I developed headache on top and back of my head along with fullness at top back and around ears along with loud noise in my head. I went to walk in clinic and Dr. Said I had outer and middle ear infection and gave Ceftin 250mg every 12 hours for 10 days. I took it for 3 days and felt weak, shaky, and couldn't urinate very well except for in between doses if I waited for an hour then my kidneys would catch up. I went back. And was put on Augmentin for 10 days which I completed but the entire time the headache top and back of head improved some pressure improved a little but noise continued. I currently am taking Metronidazole and have a cavity and can't get to the dentist till next week. I have taken Tylenol but it still hurts. This medication says to not take any barbiturates. I need to know if metronidazole will cause a false postive on a drug test hair and urine. My wife was suffering from gum problems. Dr gave her Metrogyl gel to apply to her gums. Now Metrogyl contains Ornidazole. After application for a day she complained of stomach pain.
