What pill has 852 on one side and 93/93 on the other? ## It's called metronidazole... it's for vaginal infections ## Just to clarify, the pill in description is Metronidazole (500 mg). Where do I get it and what does it do? ## Sulfacetamide and Sulfur is used as a type of antibiotic, It is most commonly used in topical preparations to treat dermatological problems. I need a sulfer based antibiotic. I get extremely severe yeast infections when I take regular anitbiotics. I ws prescibed a sulfer based one years ago and I cant remember the name of it. I need a suggestion fast as I have a dentist appintment and she prescribes antibiotics after dental surgery ## Unfortunately there does not seem to be a comprehensive list out there of sulfur based antibiotics. Even with the same active ingredient, the inactive ingredients may or may not be sulfur based, and may also vary by manufacturer. I apologize for such a vague response, is there any way you could reach the original M.D. who prescribed that sulfur based antibiotic to you and post back with the name? My mom is 85 and is in hospitpal with broncites and very bad diareah she has been put onto flagyl which is making her very sick with vomiting tiredness and tummy cramps - is this ok for an 85 year old woman ## Nausea and vomiting are common side effects of metronidazole (flagyl). Course for colitis (lower bowel infection) is 10 days long. As long as her doctors are managing her fluid and electrolyte status she should be OK. You could ask for some antiemetic (antisickness) medication to be prescribed if she is very nauseous.

white pill small like a asprin with the letter A and 374 under it ## This tablet contains 250mgs of Metronidazole, a generic for Flagyl, this is an antibiotic. This tablet, however, is no longer manufactured. Common side effects may include; nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and metallic taste in mouth. My gastrologist recently informed me that Flagyl causes neropathy, is this correct? How long would I have to take Flagyl before this would happen. thanks, ## Well, it is not listed in the regular public monograph for this, but that is not surprising, they generally only list the first few most common side effects and I am not a doctor, not medical professional, so I cannot expound on whether it does or does not cause it. Your doctor is probably speaking from experience with other patients that have used it and medical findings. The expiration date on the Vandazole packaging says 02/2009. Can I still use it since its only been 3 months after? ## When It comes to any medication, I think it may be a good idea to start fresh with a new prescription, and not worry about whether or not the drug works like it's supposed to due to the expiration. The medication may be fine, however only you and your doctor can assess what and when it may be alright for you to take Vandazole.

what are the dangers of this drug. It was prescribed today 2 pills daily for 10 days and then one pill daily for 20 days after that, for a full 30 days, I will be taking this drug. for diagnosed rosacea, but my skin is really pretty nice I think. I had what I thought was a stye.

I am taking 500 mg. of metronidazolet twice a day because I have an infection. My doctor took a swab test of my vagina, he told me after testing that I have an infection, he called the name of the infection, it was a real long name of which I can't remember. I was so surprised I forgot to ask him any questions. but what I am interested now is if this is a transmitted sexual disease . I am a 73, a widow and have not had sex in over 8 years, so I am wondering how I could have gotten a disease. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

i REALLY NEED TO TAKE THIS MEDICATION, HOW EVER I AM BREAST FEEDING AND MORE WORRIED OF MY CHILDS WELL BEING, BUT 2 DOCTORS SAID THAT IT WILL NOT HARM THE CHILD, BUT THE WARNING LABEL SAYS DO NOT TAKE WHILE BREAST FEEDING ? ## for me i got very sick from this in the hospital. please make sure before taking it. ask alot of questions. it almost destroyed me in the hospital. just trying to help . not scare you. it might be ok for you . but, it was not for me.

i have been unwell for 2years, with flu like symptoms. i had test done, ct scan, bloods, broncoscopy and doctors couldn't find anything wrong. i kept having crisis on and off. it ended up i had a bacteria infection from a wisdom tooth. i am so surprised doctors never knew. i was surprised that the tooth affected my whole body, i was tired, couldn't work or enjoy life .i was given metronidazole which was excellant and had the tooth removed. ## Judy, it is amazing how everything in the body can be connected, isn't it? Thank you for sharing this story - So is it safe to say that you're in good condition now? How long after you started taking the medication was it before you felt better?

My husband gave me Amrayl together with Doxyclin. He said he was given this by his doctor who advised him to share the medication with me. I do not trust he knows what he's talking about, please help ## Whoa.....no doctor will ever tell you to share medication with anyone, thats for sure not the truth. I'm not sure what those meds are for but you should call the doctor yourself but it could get your husband into a lot of trouble because as I said no doctor will ever tell you to share your medication, it could easily get his licence revoked. I think you should really look into why your husband would want you to take this medication so badly that he would lie to you about what a doctor says. What is this medication for? I wish you luck and hope all turns out for the best...but ple...

This is used for the treatment of certain infections, and based on what info I was able to find, it may increase the risk of premature birth.
