Ro-accutane Psychological Side Effects
UpdatedI'm 18 years old and have been on ro-accutane for a month and a half taking 30 mg a day. The drug got to work pretty much straight away, and I was drinking lots of water everyday to aid the clearing of my acne.
Around 3 weeks into taking the drug my mood became very temperamental and although I love my parents I can no longer be in the same room as them for more than five minutes before I have to run off to my bedroom to be on my own.
I've become hugely paranoid over somebody I am dating, but feel I am losing my bubbly personality he once loved and we don't speak much these days.
I have a good job working in the offices of a good British university, but my concentration is slipping. I agonise over the wording of my emails so much that I give up and forget to reply to colleagues.
I hate how this drug is making me behave, but it's so difficult to control. If you felt like this while taking the drug how were you able to cope with these changes? It will be useful to know as I'm struggling. I'd also like to know from your experience if it got worse over the course or if it was maintained at the same level throughout.
Many thanks

Hello, Lindex! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problems you're having.
Those aren't common side effects of this medication, they actually occur very rarely and they may not go away, at all. It could be that it just isn't the right medication for you and you may need to try something else.
Other possible side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, bloating, constipation and joint pain.
Have you informed your physician?
