My son is 12 1/2 and weighs 105 pounds i was wondering what the top dose of Ritalin should be for him. His behavior is getting worse daily and I was wondering if his dose needed to be adjusted and if so what not to go past

Sorry I can't help with dosage information except that, from my experience, i strongly recommend the Extended Release version (e.g., SR/Timed-release) which I think would help prevent addiction and/or continually increasing dosages as your child ages and gets bigger. I worry about this for kids because, in my experience, Ritalin is quite addictive (more so than Cylert was which was discontinued). However, doctors aren't necessarily going to keep your child on it. Taking one drug a day as opposed to 3-4 is much less habit forming. Whatever dosage, please try the Extended Release or Timed-Release (SR) version!
