My son started on 0.5 mg 4 days ago.. I haven't noticed any change in his behaviour at school but at home he seems to b very quite and drowzy.. is there a reason for him to b different at school?? He has been diagnosed with Autisim/aspergers.. ive heard and read a lot of nasty things about this drug and im quite concerned. . I understand that it takes a few weeks to have the full effect.. he also has a sleeping dissorder!! He wakes extremely early sometimes 3 in the morning.. will this help him sleep better and could this put him in a zombie like state?? What dosage is most common? ? And does anyone else take it to help them sleep at night? If so what is ur dosage?? My son is on the verge of being expelled but I am just concerned he will b "spaced out"

Hello, Ashleigh! How is he doing?

This is a very potent medication, so him being quiet and drowsy, when he hasn't been on it for very long, is quite normal and things should improve in a few weeks, once his body gets used to the medication.

Its other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, somnolence and weight changes.

And yes, it should also improve his sleeping habits, which is likely why he is on 0.5mg to start. It can always be lowered by his doctor later, if necessary,

Are there any other questions or concerns?
