Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 5)
UpdatedI have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:
*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.
I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.
Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.
Re: Tim (# 80)
120 monthly and if you prefer teva they still have them around. and the hype on Rhodes is real I have tried them all. but yes everyone is different but you get more active ingredient in the Rhodes generics.
Re: HITTRAKKZ (# 79)
agreed with you hi tech is a great company. most IV users prefer the arrow 8 hi tech generic. Rhodes still better IMO
Re: Charlene (# 77)
Try prime pharmacy in Florida. They will help. I know because my search for Rhodes was months long and well worth it.
Re: Jojo (# 76)
yes they are great jojo I know them all well stay away from wj location they over charge when ordering in for you but they are great I agree.
Re: Tim (# 75)
look up the fillers him they are less and much better or less harsh on body and for me I have found 54 411s 2x less efficient than Rhodes but yes everyone is different just look up inactive ingredients on each one should answer most questions. if I take a 54 411 I have to double my amount compared to Rhodes so 2x better for me
Re: Charlene (# 74)
don't take no for an answer and follow the money that is that right way to do all
Re: Boopie (# 69)
I love it bobbie that's what we as consumers need to do and not take no for an answer to the people we pay high money to. glad to hear you are your own advocate that's great more people need to do so! keep me posted
Re: Goozer (# 85)
I have never thought to look and complain about the fillers...I do know a guide to go to where they list all the generic buprenorphine 8mg. One thing I noticed is that all of them say 8.64 bup. Mylan says 8.624, and the rest say 8.64 except for Sun, and Actavis says 8mg. What's that all about? It does say equivalent to 8mg. Now that's throwing me off some. I have experience with buprenorphine since 2007 but never looked them up in detail. Thx anyone.
Re: Goozer (# 84)
Use the one on 1700 s 1000 e they are amazing and will order what you want and get it by the next morning
Re: Goozer (# 83)
Hi. Thank you for getting back with me...one time I called a pharmacy here in southwest Florida called prime pharmacy. When they answered they said it was some type of nursing home facility and they are all a pharmacy? Maybe I called the wrong number. So I will try again. I just had an experience yesterday at a winn Dixie pharmacy/grocery store. They carry Hikma formerly westward. My dr has been switching my bup dose around and I've been having trouble with them. Turns out it was the fillers not the dose. Anyway, in that pharmacy one script was priced my usually monthly insurance price of $45. Then yesterday the dr. gave me my normal amount of bup., which is $150/month. We bought them anyway but I never had that happen since 2007. I have always paid one price. They said that's the way it is there. So last month I got them filled at a pharmacy called Charlotte Pharmacy. They were my normal 45 dollars. The only thing I noticed differently was they said they were from westward and the pills were full, cracked looking, and these from hilda looked shiny, nicely made. I'm kinda bummed about my next refill. I also noticed that out of all the generics most all say 8.64 bup equalvent to 8mg...Mylan says 8.624 bup. and the only 2 that just say 8mg bup is actavis and sun. Do you know what's up with that? Even tho I've taken my share of subs they seem like they stopped working for me and I'm trying to figure out why.
Re: Boopie (# 69)
I'm just reading your post. I'm in southwest Florida and have a CVS store/pharmacy by my house...you mentioned they can get hi tech or Rhodes? Will they order either one? When I called them 2 weeks ago looking for the Rhodes they said they only get Actavis orange. They acted like they give from the supplier whom then always get in...feedback please. Thank you.
Re: Certifiedaddict (# 64)
I live on southwest Florida we have grocery stores/pharmacy and also Sam's club they both carry sun pharma..
I disagree with you. The Mylan brand of buprenorphine does work for my pain control. I’ve never had the Roxanne form of it. I’ve had the WestWard. I’ve had the Akorn or called Hi-Tech. They both caused my asthma to flare up bad. Mylan is the only brand that doesn’t cause my asthma to get worse. The Actavis brand for me is the next best for me. I have to be on prednisone though. I guess it’s because of the filler they use in manufacturing process of the pill. If your going by the taste of it, they all taste gross. I’m on 8mgs a.m. and 8mgs p.m. I’ve been doing so more in the last 8 months since, I’ve been on buprenorphine, than I did in the 3 years prior. I was bed-ridden before. I was on 240mgs of opiates and couldn’t do anything for myself. I couldn’t even bathe or wash myself. My husband had to help me. Now I can get in my tub and do all of it myself. I’m driving again and I just got my drivers license renewed. I wish I was put on buprenorphine 4 years ago and my body wouldn't have gotten so weak. I wouldn’t be in such a horrible condition now. I have problems balance, standing for long periods of time. My crippling diseases have progressed to far for the doctors to correct it. The only way I can have any quality of life, is to stay on this pain medication for the rest of my life. The specialist told me this. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome ( EDS ) Type 1. It’s a horrible Syndrome to have. I have other crippling problems as well. I’m not going to mention them. I just hope that Mylan can get their buprenorphine brand out as soon as possible.
Re: Tina (# 93)
First off westward was roxanne and now is himka. They make the 54 411 imprint one. I agree to disagree but mylan is a cheaper company with cheaper medicene to help make pharmacy money. I have been on bio for many many years and opiates prior. I understand how u feel completely. It is no easy task living with incurable chronic pain but for me I would pick almost anything over mylan even if it was actavis or teva. I have tried mylan and the rhodes purdue one made is at least 2 times more potent and effective than himka or mylan. But everyone is different with inactive ingredients. But just for feedback purposes why do you like the mylan so much more? They are significantly cheaper and honestly are never on backorder. Not sure who told you that but they weren't being honest. Mylan medicines are always available and always in stock. I could ask my pharmacist to change mine now and order mylan in and I would get them tomorrow morning if not later today. There is no shortage of mylan bup. Call the wholesale companies like amerisourcebergen or mckesson or cardinal or acton and even mylan. They will confirm they are in stock and easily and readily available. Honestly it's not a good generic for myself, but if it works for u that is wonderful. Love to hear feedback. Thanks.
Re: Tina (# 93)
I sent a response it is being reviewed but it could be the steriod your taking mixing wrong with an inactive ingredient in other generics such as Rhodes. but mylan is the cheapest and I've been on bup for many many years and opiates prior and tried all generics I feel your pain and hope my first response gets through to you timely. much love follow the doe
Re: Tina (# 93)
Have you had the Rhodes generic at all? And westward is Roxanne or was but now himka. there are only 7 generics. listed below but westward is now himka owned
Re: Tina (# 93)
If you need help finding mylan I would be more than happy to help you find it. It is always in high stock always. I would recommend rhodes made by purdue which are very good quality but if it affects asthma that's different, but I can't help you find mylan if you need easy. I have incurable ankylosing spondylitis and many more spinal issues that don't need mentioning but I too will need to be on this pain medicine for the rest of my life so I completely understand and if you need help finding the mylan generic I will be happy to help but I would recommend the rhodes. It barely came out in october 2017 and is quality.
Re: Charlene (# 92)
Sun is horrible. Try prime pharmacy in Florida, they will get whatever you need. I'm happy to help.
Re: Charlene (# 90)
First keep trying for the pharmacy that is not big chain and in a hospital or privately owned and small they need the business. Second, the 54 411 have been ruined with all the business moves from roxanne to westward to himka. Now the reason you got overcharged is pharmacies have the right to charge you the difference on different generics if requested and ordered in. Most know this is wrong and not to do it, but it happens. In other words they screwed you over for more cash for them even when they could have charged the 45 only. I would leave that pharmacy. Same thing has happened to me before and I left. My insurance said what they were doing was illegal but couldn't do anything. Try in-hospital pharmacies and/or google nearby pharmacies and call anyone that is not walgreens, walmart or cvs and be ready with the ndc number and simply ask, "Can you order in this preferred generic for me? If so I will bring you my business." tell them you called mckesson or amerisource etc and they said they have it and that the pharmacy just needs to call and order it in. Then get a pharmacy to do exactly that but make sure you have a paper rx that you can decide were to take it and always call and confirm so they can order your preferred generic before sending any rx. You will get some a**holes for sure but there are genuine pharmacists out there wanting to help. If you lmk the area I would make some calls for you and tell you where to go and what to do but I would say do exactly what I said above. That is the way.
Re: Charlene (# 90)
I responded it is being reviewed but will get back to you once it has been approved hope your doing well and keep me posted on all details
