Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 3) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:
*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.
I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.
Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.
Re: Vic (# 798)
I started taking bupes in 2010 because I was addicted to Oxys and the bupes used to make me feel really good but now their just another bad habit, I feel like I couldn’t have gotten off the pain pills without them though and I know what you mean when you say you miss taking Pain pills I do to in a weird way I felt more alive when I was addicted to pain pills, definitely more sociable, I have become so antisocial and introvert in general and I feel like it’s from the bupes, no I don’t take any antidepressants but I’m thinking I should look into it but then again last thing I want to do is take more medication and feel any more numb then I already do...do you take antidepressants and if so how does that work for you....I don’t exercise any maybe I should try that
I personally have tried almost every form of bupenoriphine and have found the 54 411 are the best quality out.. This is my personal opinion from my taking experiences. I have just obtained the rp b8 tablets and I am highly let down.. I found this blog doing my own research on these rp b8 and can say hands down 54 411 are for sure better than the Rhodes/purdue rp b8
My brother is convinced the RPs are better than the 54s.
I take them daily last 3 months here in Louisiana, and the RP b8 are great!
Re: Kris (# 963)
Hi, I’ve been on suboxone/ subutex for 13 years and if it takes forever, than that’s what will be. I have cut down to one a day instead of the previous 2, but don’t rush because you know where we will end up...if he needs to go up a little , let him. It would be great to be off everything, but some of us may need for rest of life, just like any other survivable disease you would take meds for. Good luck. You are all in my thoughts.
Re: Drew (# 982)
The small ones with arrow/8 are NOT Rhodes. They are Hi-Tech/ Akorn. The Rhodes are ALOT bigger and have RP/b8. I take both but I think I prefer the Rhodes. But everyone is different. All I know is I haven’t used in 13.5 years and I was a stomp down junkie for 30+ years off and on…( mostly on :( ). Good luck to you and everyone else.
Re: PLFT (# 988)
Hi, I like the hitec the little round ones w the arrow. The orange one it made me feel terrible! Actavis is the orange one.
It’s all a personal preference as you can see.
Re: Thewagger (# 999)
I think the high tech arrow on the little round pill is the best at least for me. Glade we all have alternatives! I loved the Roxanne’s 54/411 but that was discontinued sad! I got those at Sam's club. The orange ones for me were terrible!!! When you find the one for you definitely stick w it!!
Have you read articles that buprenorphine can cause trouble to your teeth and teeth falling out!!
Re: Jenb (# 8)
Yes the Roxanne are good..the 54 411. But westward now makes them which still ar ent bad just not like the old shinny great Roxanne ones. Anyways they are same size as Rhodes but do not dissolves as smoothly..they are definitely close to Rhodes but honestly a lot of people compare them to mylan..but preference. If i couldn't get Rhodes id get the 54 411s..or the hi tech 8 arrows since haven't tried them but always rhodes and my pharmacist told me the same to just call ahead but I always have done this with all my meds as I get my alprazolam special ordered.
The Roxanne now westward brand the 54 411s are good tho. If u look at the images for it you can tell the old one was way more well made than they are now..they do not dissolve nearly as well as Rhodes but are comparable. Rhodes last longer and hits harder tho. I like both generics honestly but Rhodes is better made for sure and my new preferred. I wish they still had the old Roxanne but Rhodes is amazing and it has 8 inactive ingredients on it just like the 54 411s so they are similar but like you said Rhodes are the best. They equate to probably about 2x better than any other I've tried..closest to brand name Rhodes are than anyone ever if not better...but I still like the 54 411s. But will keep getting Rhodes because Purdue makes them and they are always making good meds
Re: Goozer (# 19)
Prime Pharmacy orders their meds from Rhodes Pharmacy. While Rhodes Pharmacy makes my bup, they send the E1 blue round pills made by Sandoz and they also supply with Teva. I like Teva's Klonopin vs those E1's made by Sandoz...So I had my pharmacist start ordering the Teva's for me. Regardless, the bup w/ b8 on one side and RP on the other is actually made by Rhodes Pharmacy...hence the RP engraved on the bup pills. I'm not SUPER picky about my Klonopin as I am about the bup! Like I stated previously, 3 months of horrible w/d's from the garbage Mylan- M 924, into above normal w/ the RP b8's....I've not seen where Purdue makes sublingual bups upon Google searches, only the oval b8's for use in the buccal (between cheek and teeth)....thoughts on that?
Re: Jenb (# 20)
Yes they make them. Rhodes has buprenorphine buccals made before the sublingual tablets..long before and I have never tried buccal type yet but love the rp b8s. I take
Re: Goozer (# 1)
Well, you know I get that brand for several months now. However, when I picked up my script last month I learned how LITTLE my pharmacy is paying for the Rhodes Pharmacy supplier, as they give them to me in the same bottle that Rhodes sends them to Prime Pharmacy in...they accidentally left their sticker on the bottom of the bottle which shows how much they paid them. It was only $8.11 for 30 8MG tabs!! I pay $102 w/o insurance, but only a 5$ copay with my insurance. So they, like all other pharmacies, mark their prices up quite a bit. Thankfully not as high as big chain pharmacies?
Re: Goozer (# 1)
I've taken every subutex and every box they made. To the point, the 54s are good don't get me wrong i've been getting 54-411s for about 10 years now, but recently had the round white RP-B8. And on a scale of 1 to 10 compared to 54-411, the B8 is an 8 on the scale. I say try it for sure. I broke off a quarter and had taken that, there was no trash left. Alright bro, best of luck.
Re: Goozer (# 3)
I just switched from HiTech to Rhodes today, the inconsistency of HiTech from one day to the next was terrible. Before that I was Mylan, anyways, the more I learn I will share. I can’t tell just yet, I just picked up 2 hours ago from my pharmacist. Good luck.
Re: DawnInOhio (# 38)
Get the Rhodes generic and you will most definitely notice a generic difference and see how it is not same equivalence wise and Rhodes Purdue bup and you will be happy you made the switch. And no people they are not discontinuing bup or red. This is non sense and misinformed information. They just made two more NDC codes for these drugs. They are not going anywhere and were approved in Oct 2017. Sorry to correct you but it isn't true. And yes give them a try and you will see yourself there are huge differences in generics. Rhodes are at least two times if not more effective than any other of the 7 generics of this medicine. Best of luck and keep an open mind.
I just got them the other day so far so good we will see
Re: Goozer (# 6)
Most pharmacy will tell you over the phone they don't have them for safety precautions. Found out the hard way. I am in South Florida and it's getting harder and harder each month to get my script.
Re: Druids (# 63)
Where has them??? I'm getting frustrated looking.
Re: Charlene (# 74)
I have been on subs for 12 years and there is nothing comparable to the original subutex. The genetics are ok, some better than others Activis being the worse. I have been using the 54 411s for years and heard about the Rhodes being so good that I looked and called every pharmacy until I finally found a little pharmacy who ordered them for me and I have been on them now for the past two months. I haven’t found them to be any better than the 54 411s, in fact this is the last month I will be taking the Rhodes because I think the 54 411s might be better so I’m asking to pharmacy to fill my next prescription with them. So anyway this is my truthful opinion.Nothing is comparable to the original Subutex.
