Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 10) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:
*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.
I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.
Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.
Re: Charlene (# 92)
Sun is horrible. Try prime pharmacy in Florida, they will get whatever you need. I'm happy to help.
Re: Charlene (# 90)
First keep trying for the pharmacy that is not big chain and in a hospital or privately owned and small they need the business. Second, the 54 411 have been ruined with all the business moves from roxanne to westward to himka. Now the reason you got overcharged is pharmacies have the right to charge you the difference on different generics if requested and ordered in. Most know this is wrong and not to do it, but it happens. In other words they screwed you over for more cash for them even when they could have charged the 45 only. I would leave that pharmacy. Same thing has happened to me before and I left. My insurance said what they were doing was illegal but couldn't do anything. Try in-hospital pharmacies and/or google nearby pharmacies and call anyone that is not walgreens, walmart or cvs and be ready with the ndc number and simply ask, "Can you order in this preferred generic for me? If so I will bring you my business." tell them you called mckesson or amerisource etc and they said they have it and that the pharmacy just needs to call and order it in. Then get a pharmacy to do exactly that but make sure you have a paper rx that you can decide were to take it and always call and confirm so they can order your preferred generic before sending any rx. You will get some a**holes for sure but there are genuine pharmacists out there wanting to help. If you lmk the area I would make some calls for you and tell you where to go and what to do but I would say do exactly what I said above. That is the way.
Re: Charlene (# 77)
himka is no better than westward if not worse. to much formulation and company changes. Rhodes is consistent bam one and done
Re: Charlene (# 105)
I’m from there too- look up Charlotte pharmacy. I just got mine from there today.
Really you should go by each individual's body chemistry to make these statements about each generic brand of Subutex or Buprenorphine. Every manufacturer uses different fillers to make the pills. I can say I’ve been on 4 of the brands you mentioned. They are in order from worse to the best in how they worked for me and which one made my asthma flare more than normal; Akron or called Hi-Tech, WestWard, Actavis and Mylan. Mylan is the only one I’ve been on that doesn’t cause me to have many problems with my asthma. The Hi-Tech was the worst. I’m on Actavis right now. I have to stay on prednisone until Mylan comes out with their generic form of Subutex. It was prescribed to me while in California and when I came back home to the Midwest, it wasn’t available here. Now, people with these negative opinions about the different generic brands of buprenorphine should put which ones work best and which ones didn’t for them. Then say, it could be completely different for another individual entirely. I’m sorry, but this is a negative way of thinking and it’s putting negative thoughts out to people who may need to be on this medication for life, like ME. I have severe pain daily due to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) type 1. It causes me to pop, snap and dislocate daily and I have subluxations. That’s where you pop and it stops in the middle of the pop and it sticks. Then you have a severe pain in that area until it completely pops. Sometimes it can take hours, days, months or even years for it to pop. Anyway. I’m saying this from someone who’s experienced taking all the different types of generic forms of buprenorphine and which ones work best for me. Please, just put information out on these chats for what they do to your body and not assume what it will do to another individual. The only individuals who may have some of the the same side effects, will possibly be parents, grandparents, or siblings. Thank you.
Re: Charlene (# 109)
Hikma is the 54411 right? See I still prefer those over these Rhodes, I’ve been on them a couple days and not seeing much better yet- I go to pick up the rest and going to ask if they will get them at least for me, that’s what they had for a couple years so that’s the only reason I went to them. I’m not sick but I still just prefer the 54411, I hate that I have a bottle of these but I’ll survive til they get the others in or I find the 54411. It’s all about body chemistry and personal preference I think- these kind make me so nauseous. Anyways good luck to you!
Rhodes Pharmaceuticals can be ordered by any pharmacy just build a relationship with the head pharmacist and tell him that the ones that you are currently taking the fillers that they put in it or causing you to have an adverse reaction and they will order the Rhodes pharmaceutical ones for you they have RP and B 8 on the back and they are by far seven to eight times better than the west ward X Roxanne brand 8mg buprenorphine
Re: Charlene (# 117)
Tara, In my opinion and I’ve been on buprenorphine for 13 years, the Rhodes ate no better than the 54 411’s. The Actavis are horrible, I agree.
Re: Tim (# 118)
So you have tried the new Rhodes? So that's what I'm up against next refill Rhodes or my usual hikma brand 54 411s no more actavis this month has been horrible my usual pharmacy was closed. Ive been on buprenorphine since 2007 and haven't had to use actavis for a good amount of time..this month I reolized why I actually got away from that brand.....so which one do you think is better Rhodes or 544 411s ?.....
Re: Goozer (# 1)
Just got em, they seem to be the same as Roxanne, if not better.
Re: Charlene (# 125)
Ok. When did you call? I use Walgreens. When I filled my buprenorphine on 8-22-2018 they said, Mylan doesn't have the 8mg tablets out on the markrt, for the pharmacies. Well at least for Walgreens. I appreciate the information and thank you so much. I'll let them know. I do live in the Midwest and it is harder to get certain medications than it is for people on the East or West Coast.
Re: Goozer (# 12)
The 54 411s are now hikma and they changed a few ingredients in the. Mine were crumbly a few were chipped in the bottle and even broken in half..I called hikma with a complaint..and now its Rhodes for me to...I still like the 54 411s. But I like the quality and well made Rhodes.
Re: Charlene (# 130)
The Walgreens in my area does carry the Hi-Tech also called Akorn, WestWard and the Actavis brands of Buprenorphine. They also carry the Mylan brand, when it’s available, but it’s not right now. I live in the upper North of the MidWest. The WestWard brand didn’t work for me very much at all and it causes me to wheeze. The Hi-Tech also Akorn made wheeze even more. Since Mylan doesn’t have their brand of Buprenorphine out in the pharmacies, I’m using the Actavis brand. The only thing I don’t like about is the taste. Otherwise it works as well as Mylan, for me. Everybody is different in the way medication works for them. The WestWard brand of Buprenorphine may work for you better than it did for me. It just depends on your body chemistry and how it reacts towards other medications. Also with herbs, or vitamins you maybe taking as well. Your pharmacist should be able to tell you that information.
I hope this was helpful for you. If you need anymore information don’t hesitate to ask me.
Re: Goozer (# 133)
Hi. I am truly amazed and grateful that I somehow bumped into this blog a few months ago. If it was not for you telling us all about the new Rhodes generic buprenorphine 8mg. I just picked mine up for the 2nd time. They are so well made and shiny. And they don't have that nasty leftover metal taste. They are very smooth. I can go on and on. I just wanted to say thank you, thank you so much for your advice. It definitely took me alot of phone calls and leg work. But well worth it.
Re: ManwithnoPlan (# 141)
Congratulations on switching to subutex. Not only is it more affordable, but in my opinion wayy better than suboxone. I have taken buprenorphine treatment for 12 years now and have tried about every generic out there. As of now their are 7 generics. If you Google BTODREMS all and any info one would want is here. Now most of the subutex has 8.64mg of bup. Equivalent to 8mgs. Only 2 only have just plain 8mg. As suboxone only 8/2so your getting more for your $ using subutex. Now for the two best generics are by hikma 54 411 they are the most preferred by everyone. Now in Oct 2017 came out a new one that everyone one is raving about is Rhodes brand buprenorphine its been hard to get but we are just finding out main chain Pharmacy's will carry the one and only that they always have. So you go to a mom n pop pharmacy give them the NDC # on either two. And most are very happy to help out. Good luck today and please keep in touch. Let us know how you make out. If you need any info let me know
Re: ManwithnoPlan (# 141)
So I am just posting an update from my prior comment. I've called around to every single pharmacy within a 15mile radius. Only 2 carry subutex, both are smaller pharmacies. The one, I have used numerous of time as it is right down the street from me. I called and asked if they carried Subutex. Yes. I then proceeded to say I was looking for a specific brand and she stopped me and said pretty rudely "We do not cater to certain brands, you will have to come in" that was the end of it. I called the other pharmacy which is about 15mins away, the guy was real nice and informative and didnt get cocky with me at all. When I asked about the brand he stated the pill imprint and I said yup! Told him I would be in later. The 1st pharmacy I called that gave me an attitude has made alot of money off me this past year, but not anymore, even if I do go back to films. I do not want to go somewhere, where I feel like I am being frowned upon for the medication I'm getting, which I have there before. So I am actually happy I found this other guy, and hope we will have good encounters. Even if it is 15 mins away.
Now, back to the Subutex. I am very eager to try these with all the good things I have been hearing, but very worried at the same time. Like I stated I've had bad luck trying subutex. I know people say it is the same thing, but I know first hand that is not true. Can anybody else confirm if they have switched from Suboxone to this Rhodes Subutex? If so, how was it?
Thank you all, and especially you goozer, as I have been reading a lot of your comments on this brand.
Re: Charlene (# 142)
They just told me that they wouldn’t be having the 54’s for much longer, I can’t imagine they would be “going off the market” but yet please let me know if any places in the area that have them!! I would be grateful. Maybe they just get them cheaper and don’t want to carry them anymore? I mean the guy is nice there but I am a cash customer which I know a lot of us are .. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more to get the ones I like! I wrote my last message early as hell this morning and not feeling too well, so I’ll have to scroll through and see what all I said... haha.. but anyways it would be nice to know of other places for a back up! Thanks!
Re: Goozer (# 147)
All I can remember about Teva now that I'm thinking about it. They were good if those where the ones that came out followed by brand named subutex. I remember Walgreens always had them
Matter of fact I would not have even known the were not subutex only because the bottle was different I still remember the original bottle and I didn't notice anything different in the pills other I knew they were different because of the bottle was different. My husband said he called Walgreens and noticed even the pills looked different other than that I remember they where good and as the years went by the brands went downhill. Until Roxanne came out...at first when I asked about them you described them I knew right off the bat what you were talking about. Do they even still makes those?. Its been along time since..and yes they are good
Re: Goozer (# 149)
Wow, its been along time ago that I had teva it had to be somewhere around 2008 or so..but yes now those were very good.. I had no idea you could still get them..but like you said if you can get the pharmacy to order them...it must be sorta hard because I happen to remember everyone liked those alot and then they just disappeared and the next generic version came out..I'm suprised it's not made more available nowadays because from what's out and about on the market we only have 2 main generics most of us are after..so it's a hard toss up teva? Rhodes?..I would have to say teva maybe..because they seemed good and strong very close to brand name subutex. But its been awhile. I like Rhodes it is smooth and doesn't leave crumbs behind and best of all no after taste..when you take 4 a day like me the after taste can last all day.
They're a lil different than the westward 54 511s but they are better if you take 1 at a time pending on how many you take. 1 in morning and 1 at lunch has a longer effect than 2 at one time. If I was you I would stick to the westward brand. I get mine in a bottle from the distributor and it says active ingredients on back of square bottle, 8.64 mgs of buprenorphine in each tablet. The rhodes rp p8 does not have active ingredients listed on the bottle. I find that strange. I would stick with the westward brand. They are one of the first to hit market an still a favorite by all the replies I've seen. I got rhodes 2 months straight an went back to the westward brand an definitely noticed a difference. The west-ward brand was originally produced by roxane laboratories. West-ward bought them out and if you do any kind of research roxane laboratories are the ones that produce methadone, one of the strongest opioids on the market, therefore they are held to a higher standard because they are used in various treatment programs. So they go through rigorous fda testing. The west-ward brand hands down are the best ones on the market. I've tried every brand. The activist orange ones, the high-tech tiny ones with the arrow, the mylan, I tried every brand out there. There will never be another one like the original teva brand b 799. Those were way better than any of them but they got sold out to all the other companies. Since then west-ward is the only ones that have kept up their quality in manufacturing and that is coming from my pharmacist which also happens to be my uncle. He runs his own pharmacy and all generics are graded on a B and C scale and they are also cheaper and a quality generic will cost you around $4.90 per pill. A "B" brand generic will cost you around $3.20 per pill and a "C" quality product will be around a dollar 90 per pill. That's coming from the manufacturer. That's what the pharmacy is paying. So when you get your medicine, ask him how much one brand cost versus the other brand. It's just like any other thing, you get what you pay for.
