Restarting Metoprolol After 8 Months
UpdatedI got a horrible cold/flu and my heart rate keeps going over 100 - psvt has returned. I am taking metoprolol in desperation. Please help. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I can't take any medication for fear of starting a psvt. I have taken Advil.

Whenever you are sick with a condition that can affect your breathing and circulation, it causes your heart to have to work harder to pump enough blood to your organs, so it can be normal for your respiratory rate, heart rate, and blood pressure to become elevated.
Did your doctor instruct you to restart the Metoprolol?
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension and palpitations.
