Requip For Rls 4 Mg
UpdatedHave been on requip for about 8 weeks. Started off with 2 mg and am up to 4 mg per day. The requip stops the RLS for me but makes me so sick to my stomach. Even in the mornings I wake up and feel the need to vomit. Is it going to get better?

Sure you're not pregnant? Only kidding! Unfortunately, that is one of the number one side effects, but it really will get better. How long have you been on the 4mg? That would make a difference because it can take up to 2 months for the nausea to subside after getting to a new dose.
Have only been on the 4 mg for about two weeks now. I noticed the 2 mg at the end of the 4th or 5th week was starting to make me sick to my stomach.
Oh NO, I am not pregnant - god forbid - hahahahha.
Well, this is good news that the nausea will subside after awhile.
I am so glad for these drugs. I have been battling RLS for about 20 years now and just this year finally had the nerve to tell my doctor what I was experiencing.
Do you experience RLS during the day by chance?
Yes it should subside after you are on it for awhile, and your body becomes accustomed to the dosage. However, you can expect it to recur in the future if you again switch to a higher dose, the time span for this to ease off, also varies from person to person, depending on how fast their bodies adjust and the dosage.
If you are having problems, your doc should be able to give you a scrip for something to prevent the nausea or perhaps suggest something over the counter that you can use.
Some people get relief successfully from over the counter products that can combat nausea like Benadryl or Dramamine.
If those dont work ask for some compazine or some phenergan for nausea.
Yes, I do experience it during the day if I am sitting in a chair with my feet on the footstool. Drives me nuts!
I know that I can buy Benadryl and Dramamine over the counter but can you buy compazine and phenergan over the counter? I need some relieve for the nausea. I am in amazement that within ten minutes of taking the drug the onset of the nausea begins to include the vomitting.
My last doctor's visit my doctor was surprised when I told him that I experienced the RLS symptoms during the day on occasion. Riding in the car or a plane ride is absolutely misery!! Glad to hear that it's just not me.
No, the other ones are prescription products. However, they are not as heavily regulated as Benzos or narcotics, so your doc should be able to just phone a scrip in for something like that, if you need it.
I use Meclizine, because I take Morphine for my pain, and it unpredictably acts on the same receptors that cause your gag reflex, so you never know when you take it, if you will be alright, or get sick. LOL!
I sure am glad that I rarely get nausea from medications or anything else for that matter! Unfortunately, I have a stomach of stone, which explains, in part, why I am so overweight! lol.
I have a stomach of stone as well so that's why I am shocked at my body's reaction to the requip.
Just reading the discussion about taking Benadryl or dramamine for nausea from Requip. I have heard that both of those are said to make RLS symptoms worse -- I think I would rather be nauseated!! Both of them affect me by making my RLS worse.
One question: How many times a day do you take Requip?? I am presenting taking Mirapex 0.25 in the afternoon and Requip 2 mg in the evening and I think I want to try just the Requip but don't know how often one usually takes it. (I am away from our doctor at this time).
I have been taking Requip for RLS for about 6 months. My RLS is getting worse!!! I missed ONE dose and was up all night until I could get to the drugstore for more. I'm talking SERIOUS episode too, I couldn't even sit down, I had to pace all night. I am beginning to get episodes sooner and sooner after daily dose as well. I wish I'd never started on the damn stuff. I dealt with RLS for almost 40 years without it. Anyone else have this problem?
