Requip Dangers!

My father recently passed away pretty unexpectedly. Nothing was wrong with the man, except that he had beginning stage Parkinsons. He was on Requip for it since last May. It controlled his shakes, but he developed Interstitial Lung Disease from the drug. The disease is listed as a side effect, but I had to DIG for that info. No doctor told him anything about all the other things that could go wrong. WE BLAME REQUIP. And I miss my father.

Hello, Erin! I am so very sorry about your loss. Losing a parent is always so hard, no matter what causes it. Both of mine are gone, now, and I miss them every day!!!

While there are risks associated with all medications, and medical treatments, it doesn't help alleviate the anguish, when something happens to someone we love.

Has his case been reported to the FDA?

FDA Adervse Events Reporting

The reason I'm asking is due to the fact that while ILD was noted during trials for Requip, at that time, it was deemed to have occurred often enough for it to actually be warned about among the possible medication side effects, which you yourself discovered when researching it. However, if they receive enough reports, that may change, and it could help save some others.

The public can make reports, and then they will look into it.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't definitely say that his death was tied to the medication, but it does seem there may be good reason to be suspicious.
