Relief Of Constipation From Exalgo (or Opiods In General)

I am unable to move my bowels from taking Exalgo and other opiods that I have taken for my chronic pain. I have tried taking drugs like Movantik and Amitiza that are supposed to relieve opiod constipation but they have not worked for me. Neither has more fiber, Colace, prunes, miralax etc. Anybody have any amazing remedy???

Try hot prune juice. After I had hemoroid and
fissure surgery, we couldn't go home until we had a bowel movement, but they ran out of laxative
before me, so I stayed up with the nurses and they allowed me to heat prune juice and sit and drink it in their kitchen. The next morning I went very smoothly with no pain or ripping that patients on the laxative got! Don't sleep too far from a
bathroom!

Very sorry about the problem you are having. I've been there, when taking opiates, but increased fiber intake helped me.

Have you tried enemas, or suppositories? There are some available via prescription, and some over the counter products, since they are inserted anally, they work directly on the hardened stool.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as including irritation, cramping, and diarrhea.

Beyond that, you may need to go to the ER for treatment of this issue.

Does anyone else have any other ideas?
