Regestrone Tablet 21 Days (two Times) Dose

I have had profuse bleeding for 1 month, so my gynic suggested me to take a 21 day dose of regestrone (twice daily). Will it be harmful to me?? Or will it succeed and I will get regular periods then after?

I have had pcos for 10 years, but after taking Ayurveda treatment, my period started regularly from last December, but all of a sudden I missed my period in October & just got spotting... In November I consulted my doctor and she prescribed Meprate 5mg for 5 days... After 10 days I got my period, but my menses has still continued for more than one month. After taking Pause tablets it stopped for a few days, but then again started after intercourse. I consulted another doctor and he prescribed Regestone for 21 days. However, it's already been 12 days but spotting continued. Is it normal or do I need to consult with my doctor again?

Regestrone contains the hormone Progesterone, which is vital to a woman's reproductive cycle, and overall health. However, there is no way to be sure if it will, or will not work for you, you have to try it, as directed by your doctor.

The FDA does list it as possibly causing some side effects, such as nausea, headache, weight changes, mood changes, and irritability.

Manu, Regestrone can cause some spotting, as a side effect. Has there been any change?
