Regestrone Stopped Bleeding And Again Started After 3 Days

Hi, my periods did not stop for about two weeks. My doctor prescribed me regestrone two tablets thrice a day for two days and then reduce the dose. It stopped my periods after two days. But after three days i am again having bleeding. Though sometimes my periods are irregular this is the first time it's happened to me. I dont know what to do.. i want bleeding to be stopped. Please suggest asap.

That is normal and usually happens, if your dose is suddenly reduced or stopped, according to the NIH. This hormone is usually what stabilizes your body, so you don't bleed for several weeks, then, if you do not become pregnant, it suddenly falls off and you experience a period.

Other side effects as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms.

You may need to take a longer course of it, or to try a hormonal contraceptive for several months, to help restore a better hormonal balance. But only your doctor can help you decide what is right for you.
