Regestrone For Irregular Periods

Hi all,

I'm suffering from irregular periods. I had a skip in my cycles for 2 months so i was advised to take Regestrone 5mg for 5 days (2 tablets a day). The course is over and even for the next 5 days I haven't got periods. How many more days do i gotta wait to get my menses?

I am 52 years old and had post-menopausal bleeding which lasted for about a week. My periods had stopped about a year back. The doc did a biopsy and the report was simple hyperplasia of endometrium. The ultrasound had shown the thickness of the uterine wall to be 7". My gynecologist has advised Regestrone 5mg twice a day for 6 months (she said it was to stopped the reversal of growth of the uterine wall) while another gynecologist in the family suggested nothing and asked me to just wait and watch as it seemed to be nothing serious. I really need the correct advice as I am hesitant to take this hormone if it is really not needed and fear the side effects, etc.

I took Regestrone 5mg for 3 days and after stopping treatment I still didn't have my period for nearly a week. How long does it normally take to have your periods after completing treatment?

Hello sir.my age is 18 and I have the problem of irregular periods.our doctor suggested me regestrone tablet twice a day.I forget to take the tablet once and then I skipped it and I started taking the tablet from the next day.After 10 days I got periods.I didn't completed my course.what shall I do know

Regestrone (Norethisterone) is a female hormone that's marketed for use in normalizing the menstrual cycle, among other related conditions.

However, depending on when and how much hormone replacement therapy a patient receives v.s. how much the body really needs, expectations may not line up with the desired outcome. Therefore, I'd encourage your sister to consult her prescribing doctor (or gynecologist) for more information.

If your sister is deficient in naturally occurring hormones, this could be a reason why her periods have been absent(?) Albeit, upon closer evaluation, more appropriate recommendations can be made for her long-term health and wellbeing.

I took regestrone on alternate days (5 tabs) as i had to travel. But I got my periods immediately. I had unprotected intercourse when I was around the 21st day of my cycle, but i still haven’t got my periods. Pregnancy test says negative. Please advise.

I am 38years old. I have an 11 year old daughter. I was trying to get pregnant but did not succeed. I had intercourse using a condom on 7/1; five days after my period started. My last period was on 3/1. This month I did not get my period, but I did take regestrone. Will I get my periods?

U have to consult a doctor that's the best u have to do....u may have to do an ultra scan too..

My period was due on November 27th but I didn't get it so I consulted my doctor who advised me to take Regestrone 10mg for 5 days. I know I'm not pregnant for sure. It's been 3 days now after stopping the tablets and I still haven't gotten my period! Please suggest what to do?

My daughter has had irregular periods for 2 yrs... She suffered from menstrual flow after 4 months. When bleeding starts it does not stop automatically. It continues for many days until her hemoglobin levels reduce to 6 and needs to take blood. When bleeding starts she suffers from severe abdominal pain. So according to her doctor's advice, I gave her regestrone for 25 days, then wait till she has her period, then back to regestrone, then a period and like this for 3 months. But during the last 2 years she had taken regestrone for 5 months not continuously. In the last month she took regestrone for one month instead of 21 days; for her exam. Now she has a period of 4 days with bleeding gradually increasing. So I want to know if I can give her regestrone for more than 21 days? Can it affect her uterus? She is only 15 yrs old.

Hi. Last month I had suffered from irregular periods. It had not been coming after 15 days, so l had to take regestrone 5mg on the advice of my gynaecologist. Now l have been taking that tablet for 1 month continuously for postponed periods. So l just want to ask, is this tablet harmful to my stomach ovum in the future planning of a baby? Please tell me your thoughts as I am scared to think about this.

Hi Doctor, I am trying to conceive from last 5 months.age:30 years. Doctor prescribed to take me regestrone 5mg every night after dinner from 19th day of my period for 10 days. Please help. Will this tablet help in conceiving? Or it is given for other purpose.

I'm 23 years old and the last time I got my periods was in April... Then I took a medicine called regestrone (5mg) - 9 pills in total... Today is the 10th day on it and I still didn't have my periods. What more do I have to do?
