Hi all,
I'm suffering from irregular periods. I had a skip in my cycles for 2 months so i was advised to take Regestrone 5mg for 5 days (2 tablets a day). The course is over and even for the next 5 days I haven't got periods. How many more days do i gotta wait to get my menses?

My period was due on November 27th but I didn't get it so I consulted my doctor who advised me to take Regestrone 10mg for 5 days. I know I'm not pregnant for sure. It's been 3 days now after stopping the tablets and I still haven't gotten my period! Please suggest what to do?

I took regestrone on alternate days (5 tabs) as i had to travel. But I got my periods immediately. I had unprotected intercourse when I was around the 21st day of my cycle, but i still haven’t got my periods. Pregnancy test says negative. Please advise.

Regestrone (Norethisterone) is a female hormone that's marketed for use in normalizing the menstrual cycle, among other related conditions.
However, depending on when and how much hormone replacement therapy a patient receives v.s. how much the body really needs, expectations may not line up with the desired outcome. Therefore, I'd encourage your sister to consult her prescribing doctor (or gynecologist) for more information.
If your sister is deficient in naturally occurring hormones, this could be a reason why her periods have been absent(?) Albeit, upon closer evaluation, more appropriate recommendations can be made for her long-term health and wellbeing.

I am 52 years old and had post-menopausal bleeding which lasted for about a week. My periods had stopped about a year back. The doc did a biopsy and the report was simple hyperplasia of endometrium. The ultrasound had shown the thickness of the uterine wall to be 7". My gynecologist has advised Regestrone 5mg twice a day for 6 months (she said it was to stopped the reversal of growth of the uterine wall) while another gynecologist in the family suggested nothing and asked me to just wait and watch as it seemed to be nothing serious. I really need the correct advice as I am hesitant to take this hormone if it is really not needed and fear the side effects, etc.
