Regarding Epitrel Tretinoina Cream
UpdatedHow often (how many days per week) should this cream be used? I am 67 years old and am using it to treat sun damage (actinic keratoses) on my face.

From what I was able to gather, the primary ingredient in Epitrel Tretinoina Cream is Tretinoin. Although I couldn't locate specific information stating how many days per week this should be used, I did find some other very important user information that you may find beneficial. The safety and administration guidelines for this medication note the following:
"The effectiveness of Tretinoin Cream, USP (Emollient) 0.05% in the mitigation of fine wrinkles, mottled hyperpigmentation, and tactile roughness of facial skin has not been established in people greater than 50 years of age OR in people with moderately to heavily pigmented skin. In addition, patients with visible actinic keratoses and patients with a history of skin cancer were excluded from clinical trials of Tretinoin Cream, USP (Emollient) 0.05%. Thus the effectiveness and safety of Tretinoin Cream, USP (Emollient) 0.05% in these populations are not known at this time."
"Most of the improvement noted with Tretinoin Cream, USP (Emollient) 0.05% is seen during the first 24 weeks of therapy. Thereafter, therapy primarily maintains the improvement realized during the first 24 weeks."
"Neither the safety nor the efficacy of using Tretinoin Cream, USP (Emollient) 0.05% daily for greater than 48 weeks has been established, and daily use beyond 48 weeks has not been systematically and histologically investigated in adequate and well-controlled trials."

Is it true that this cream from.MExico contains mercury. I am using.the.epitrel tretinoin cream. Thank you.
I got this cream called Epitrel from Mexico I know nothing about it. How do I use it and how much and how often. Does it need to be mixed with something? Please if some one has any info I would be greatfull to hear from you.
Thank you
I bave the same cream. Start by washing your face at night. Let it dry 20 min before using cream. Use a pea size amount for your entire face. Avoid under your eyes, eye lids, and the crease of the nose. Gently apply to face, do not rub hard! Use a good night time moisturizer right after. I was told to do every 3 day for a couple of weeks, then every other day for 2 weeks, then if you are tolerating use it daily. Please remember--your skin is going to look red and icky for a few weeks --mine looked like a mild sunburn--dont stop it is all part of the process. hope this helps
i have epitrel 40g from mexico. i want to put it on my arms (top of arm from wrist up to inside of elbow) for sun spots and general sun damage to skin. will this help?
My friend gave me the same cream from Mexico, and there was no direction how to use. I put around my eyes and Lid, after 2 days my eyes became itchy. I was rubbing so hard because I couldn't tolerate the itch, now it's red, rough and swollen. I don't know what to do.
So my mom got the epitrel 40g cream for me and I only wear it at night maybe 2-3 times a week and it has cleared up my acne significantly!! The only downside is that it does dry up the skin but most acne treatments do that and it's not that bad. You also can't buy it in the US since it is a product made in Mexico but you can order it off Amazon.
I purchased the same thing and love it. I apply it to clean dry skin at night for 3 nights then regular moisturizer for 4 nights. If you use it around your eyes they will look worse before they look better. I've been very happy with the results. Took away brown skin spots on my face.
I tried looking for it in Amazin - I couldn't find anything. Could u please tell what's it listed under - to make sure I spelled it correctly!
Thank U..
I have been using this when brown spots appear on my face. After a day or two your skin will peel away along with the spots. Of course the area is red for a few days, then nice skin. Works the same as U.S. RetinA. I love it. Got it in Mexico for around $70, over the counter.
Never use it on the eye lids and only apply it to the skin below the eye...not the sensitive skin directly under the eye. If irritation still happens decrease the number of nights you apply it until there is no irritation. Also, you should wait 15 minutes or more after you wash your face.
This is the same as Retin-A Do not use if you plan to ne in the sun alot . For night cream use Cetaphil moisturizing after EPITREL. Be sure to check if 0.01g or 0.05 etc. Do not apply large amts, use sparingly.
