Reformulated Oxycontin Op (Page 4)

I was receiving Oxycontin 80mg OC, but then they changed it to the reformulated Oxycontin 80mg OP. I never had a problem with the old version BUT now i get right side cramping. Is this because new version is not made properly?

Dear Prima Hawaii,

Your concern IS being discussed at a Purdue web site. In fact when the question of liability came up, and somebody asked how is there any liability?, he was directed to look up the word bezoar .

I'd suggest looking in Wikipedia.

I have heard dozens of the same complaints,I agree this so called reformed medicine is a disgrace to the medical Profession.there will be a lot of suicides,subsequently from these ineffective OPs.they need to bring back what works...

its not mainly abusers, its the fact that people overdose and die, but the fact is you cant, my friend did heroin and died from a heroin overdose and they blamed it on the Oxycontin, heroin is that makes people overdose not Oxycontin, i knew someone who did 200mg 5+ 40mg pills at once snorted there first f***ing time and they were fine..... but someone died from doing heroin and it was blamed on oc, its f***ed up, heroin got this drug changed, heroin is dirty, but oc was cleaner than h, they should have left it alone, now heroin is on the rise really bad now there sayin op oxy should be illegal, only thing that managed my pain. now it dont?

I have had spinal pain due to an injury for nine years the only meds that let me lead a somewhat normal life was the original oxy oc. I could tell immeadiatley once they changed it. I did give the new reform op oxy a chance but it just does not work at all and makes me sick. Is there going to be a class action law suit??? I can't take this stuff.

What do I do now? I was on oxy-ER for years to treat chronic pain, verified to exist by MRI tests. My HMO Pain Clinician /Clinic gave injections and RX 80mg Oxy-ER plus 5mg oxycodone for break-through pain. Early in 2010, I conferred with my Pain Phycisian that I wanted to try an alternative and was prescribed Methedone, titrated on schedule to get off Oxy-ER. I was very sick and could ont tolerate thea Methodone (severe neasua: vomiting: headaches: etc.). My Pain Clinic scheduled phone calls to "grill me on every detail of my progress: I.E. What was I doing to relieve my pain: what level of titration was I on: if constipated;. I felt like I was being treated as an addiction patient, which my Dr. said I was not. After the ordeal trying Methodone, I requested to return to the Oxycontin RX. I was prescribed 0ne 40mg. tab. of Oxy every 8 hrs., which was half the dosage that I was previously prescribed. At he first appointment with the Pain Dr., He asked "How is the new Reformulated Oxycontin working for you? I quickly responded, Is that what's wrong with it??? IT DOESN'T WORK! In addition, I was sick as "sick as a dog". All of the wretched effects that I had with the Methodone. I have experianced , what I call blatant abuse by the Pain Dr. and Staff. I am going on 70 years old, worked all my life and now I am not being treated for my pain and have been humiliated by the HMO that I pay higher and higher premiums and Co-Pays. I will join ant Class Action Law Suit against Purdue, Kaiser. and the DEA. PEOPLE MUST TAKE ACTION TO MAKE THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS OUTRAGE TO FEEL SOME PAIN!! Please advise if there is anywhere to turn.

to jason, you would not talk so smart, if you were the person who has taken this medication for pain, as prescribed. I hope you suffer some intense pain issue's in your life, then lets see how smart mouthed you are to people suffering in this world. You are a jackass, and maybe someone will kick your ass someday. And by the way, who are you to judge anyone. There is only one judge you will face one day. If you do not have any educated offerings, please get off this site, jerk....

maria, do not be so quick to judge others, just because of your kins problem. There are people out here who need this med., for the rifgt reasons. Of coarse you get hooked, just like coffee, ciggs., aspirins, anything....to much food. Your reasoning does not fly. Lets take something away from you, that you need desperatly. See how the shoe fits, miss judgemental. Go suck on something...

Well I was on the genteric MS Contin and I see they now have changed too a different color and OP on the back and after my 1st dose I got less pain relief but I am beltching up stomache acid,I have a history of ulcers and also have Hep C and talk about nausea from the Hep OMG I am litterly sick as a dog and b-4 this was doing much better than I had for a long time why to we suffer when its the addicts that screwed it up for us all in chronic pain,I hope they catch every single one of you out there that made this happen to the people who truley need somethig for Pain and I hope you suffer for causing us who are in need even less quality of life!
Why do people care if you stupid fools die abusing pain meds needed for us in true pain I ask?They don't seem to care if I or others in my shoes commit suicide,due to your stupidity,you need treatment not our pills,maybe Prison would change how you think about others that live in pain 24/7/365 days a year!You oxy hillbillys I hope your proud of yourseves!!Most of all I hope you are caught and punished.I as in a car accident yrs ago and got my life back and now you have taken it.I can ony imagine what youd think of being bedridden for life?

Dude, where did you get your education? Out of a 'CRACKER-JACK' BOX? 1st of all, oxycontin has only been on the market since 1995! And you talk like your pretty experienced in using them yourself! By the way, this is how punctuation is properly used! Hint hint. Go back to school jack! Yes, it is true. People got screwed by purdue when they changed the oxycontin formula to what it consists of now." Pure bulls***! The only thing that made it different is the fact, they put some kind of time release sealed inside of the pills. Purdue did this, and don't quote me on this but did the change without approval from the F.D.A. it almost looks as if they put plastic wrap in a pill and painted them. Well good luck! Sorry if I seemed a little harsh towards you earlier in my response. Spelling and correct punctuation are one of my pet-peeves!

Everyone should CALL PERDUE PHARMA at the 888 number and choose option 2 to report adverse effects. I called today about the gummy digestion issues and they said this was the first time I heard that.

You're not the only one. The new pills aren't as effective, and I feel like crap now, low, irritable, even a bit depressed with it in my system. What are the honest patients, that don't abuse OxyContin supposed to do, with no choice but to take this awful new version?

Hi I experience all these symptoms you are not alone it is terrible I hate it, I don't get the pain relief which has impacted my ability to work which is affecting my income which is already low. Now as times are tough I find it starting to affect my marriage arguments are more regular. We never used to fight we now fight because of money I'm more irritable as I'm continuously in more pain. All this because people abuse something they probably don't need. Those of us with pain problems are being forced to suffer because of people abusing this drug. It's unfair that we are forced to suffer because of something that is out of our control.

Yes I get them 2 maybe if we can prove that it is happening get the chemist or the supplier as long as u get a note from your doctor saying different side affects are happen can you's please give this people the old one and they might we just need to get on to the people that makes them MUNDIPHARMA LETS ALL PUT A COMPLAINT AND LETS SEE IF THAT WORKS i will find out the number and put it up
