Refilling My Valid Xanax Prescription Early (Page 18)

I only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. I had sense enough not to go to the same pharmacy and not to give my insurance information. So I go to this small drug store by my house and I had to fill out paperwork such as dob, name and my DL #. Well they paged me to the front of the store and advised me that it was 7 days to early for them to re-fill. So my question is where can I go to re-fill a prescription that is valid written by the same doctor. I only tried one place, I'm guessing they must have a data base if you try and refill your prescription early (even without your insurance) does anyone have advice on where I can go to get this filled?

Streetpharmacist, All prescription drugs that contain Tylenol cannot contain more than 325 mgs of Tylenol. It has been this way for several yrs. Streetpharmacist, I don't know where you are getting your information from, but it is not correct.

EDDY, Vicodin has not been reformulated. Unless you are referring to the decrease in Tylenol.

You are correct in the fact that Xanax is a schedule 4 I made a typing error. And no, psychologists do not write prescriptions. Only a psychiatrist can.

I get xanax refills every month and i ha e no problem picking up my refills up to 6 days early as long as the insurance pays for it. The pharmacist will look at it.. Je might say ur a few days early but since the insurance approved paying for it even though its 6 days early i usually get my refill a week early every month .. Last month i picked it up on the 11 the second month i picked them up on the 5 so this month i will be able to het them on the 30 ... Yes my xanax .. Tramadol and every controlled substance .. Never had a problem picking them up 6 sometimes 7 to 8 days early depending on the pharmacist.. Some are jerks and even the the insurance approved it.. They wont give it to u till the date u picked it up the month before...

There is no way to get early unfortunately. Every narcotic is tracked by your DL and goes into the database. So even though you were paying cash ect. You won't be able to fill it early and be careful because you don't want to get flaged on the database.

jessica, you need to be prepared to not be able to get your early refills. You also need to be prepared for your dr to say that since you have been getting them filled early that you should have enough to last for a certain time frame and they won't give you a new prescription until that date. Insurance companies are also cracking down on early refills that are every month.

There is a difference between drug dealing and a friend helping a friend who is obviously grieving the loss of not only just a loved one but that of a husband! What u think Ur better than people because u r a nurse?.... Hate is ugly....

Truth, drug dealing and giving someone a pill that was prescribed to you are both illegal and there are laws against both. You do not have to receive money for it to be a crime. You also do not have to deal in any specific quanity for it to be a crime. Quanity can play a part when determining which law(s) were broken. Read your state laws.

I also have panic attacks. I'm on 10mg 3 a day of diazepam but still having attacks. This may sound crazy but if u go and get vitamin c chewable tablets 500 or 600 mg and take 2 a day u would not believe the results on how it helps with attacks. Just try it and you will see a big difference..

BL. What erroneous info did I give? There is no longer vicodin or lortab just norco. Like I said vicodin hydrocodone w/650 apap lortab hydrocodone w/500 apap norco hydrocodone w/325 apap. They don't make vicodin and lortab anymore

Streetpharmacist, You are thinking about Lorcet, not Lortab, Vicodin or Norco. Lorcet did have 650 mg Acetaminophen. Lortab, Vicodin and Norco all had 500 mg Acetaminophen until the manufacturers had to lower the Acetaminophen to no more than 325 mg for prescription drugs. Lortab, Vicodin and Norco are all Brand Names, all contain hydrocodone/325 mg acetaminophen and will be filled with a generic substitute, unless the prescription is specifically marked for No Substitute.

Brand Name Vicodin, has only 300 mg Tylenol and they still make it. No substitute would have to be specifically stated on the prescription for a patient to get Vicodin, Vicodin ES or Vicodin HP and not hydrocodone/325 mg acetaminophen

Some drs will write Lortab, Vicodin or Norco when they write a prescription, BUT the ingredients are the same no matter what brand name they write it for, hydrocodone/325 mg acetaminophen. For example, a prescription bottle will have Hydrocodone 5 mg/325 mg Acetaminophen, substituted for Lortab.

BL, we can debate til pigs fly. They don't distribute vicodin and lortab anymore. They went to norco 5/325, 7.5/325, 10/325. Point blank period.

You can't get them filled early. It's the law. Read up on it before you try to refill your script a week early!

Streetpharmacist, if they no longer make Vicodin, why can you still get it? A friend of mine takes hydrocodone/acetaminophen and I looked at her prescription bottle the other day. It says substitute for Vicodin. She got the prescription 2 weeks ago.
