The colored dots are hypoallergenic coloring. The DEA has has pharmaceutical manufacturers add different colors to some narcotics. When they turn up in drug crimes they can pick out the granules and analyze the chemical structure with out destroying evidence and tracing it back to its distribution point. Long answer short, it's the government spying on you.

No, that's not what hypoallergenic coloring means, hypoallergenic just means that it's not known to cause allergic reactions in the largest percentage of the population. They are not traceable. The markings on medications are what's traceable.
