Rectal Bleeding With Diarrhea Hig Dose Methadone Maintenance

I've been on MMT for 15 years. Currently my disease is 180 per day. I've been on that or more for 6 years or so. For the past several months I've developed diarrhea with blood in it. It's gotten worse over time, and now there's a lot of blood. Enough to turn the color of the water red, dark red at times. Blood clots, pain in my abdomen, etc. I know I have hemeroids but I think there's something more going on as well.
I wonder if the juice is connected to my health problems. And I wonder if anyone else has experienced anything similar?

I am terribly sorry to hear about your situation. I very strongly encourage you to see your doctor about this issue if you haven't already.

According to the National Institute of Health, one of the common effects of high doses of methadone is gastrointestinal distress, leading to constipation, hemorrhoids, rectal bleeding and other painful complications. With this in mind it is definitely possible that the symptoms you are experiencing are related to your prolonged administration of methadone.
