Ranitidine - Gluten Free?

I was prescribed Ranitidine 150 mg manufactured by Amneal. Is it gluten free? I've been having stomach pain since I started it.

I have to break Amneal 300 mg tabs in half and my throat gets sore. I have been told by the pharmacist and the doctor this is fine to do. May I say how dare BCBS limit me to 90 days only per year of Protonix because it costs more; sure I could appeal it. Since I never had any real problems with Ranitidine before taking Ameal Ranitidine, and seeing it when it turns bad makes me wonder about the company?

Hello, Reed! How are you? What are the markings on the tablets you are taking? Can you please post back and clarify? That is what would enable me to research this information for you.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, diarrhea, and stomach pain.

Eddy, this medication is now available over the counter. Have you tried taking the one available in your local store?

I think the cost factor would be prohibitive. Now I'm seeing litigation commercials for all Proton Pump drugs, and even my Healthcare Drug firm tried to tell me how dangerous this class of drug is, therefore forcing me back to my Ranitidine.
