Ranitidine 150 Mg Tablets

Is ranitidine still safe to take after the expiration/discard date? Mine is 10/10/12.

Most medications, such as Ranitidine, don't get dangerous when expired, but they do begin to lose efficacy after that point. Thus, the older they are, the less they are going to work.

It would really be best to just dispose of the expired and purchase new.

I was on omeprazole for about 2 and a half years, and on Rapeprazole for 10 years for acid reflux. My last endoscopy revealed fundic polyps so I stopped taking the omeprazole and my GP put me on Ranitidine 150mg x2 daily. Have been taking them for for 5 days now. It doesn't suppress the acid as well as the omeprazole do and on top of that I experience headaches and don’t feel well. All of yesterday afternoon, evening, night and today I have been having a terrible headache that Paracetamol doesn’t take away. I feel like my eyeballs are coming out. Don’t know what do as my acid reflux is bad. Could that be a side effect from Ranitidine? Thank you for your help.
