I'm a singer with a throat infection and taking augmentin 875/125. My voice has disappeared and I have a show tonight, my doctor advised to take 8x4mg medrol - he initially said 2x16 mg pills but when I said I had some 4mg - he said those would be okay. He said to take them with food around lunchtime, my sound check it around 8 with the show around 11pm - will they have taken effect my then and how long will it last for?

Generally, I'd have to say that no, there is no guarantee they will work that fast.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne and weight changes.
