Quetiapine - Side Effects

My Doctor prescribed this med. for sleeplessness. About three weeks later I felt pressure in my head, felt faint, short of breath, or like a very bad hang over, or like I've been poisoned. Plus a high rise in blood pressure. I don't drink or do illegal drugs. I stopped taking the drug and feel 90% better. The only thing is I can't sleep now, I get about 2 hrs a night.

Take an actual sleep aid, unless you actually need an antipsychotic. These medications are dangerous and it’s gross that doctors pass them out for insomnia when there are many pharmaceuticals for insomnia that won’t give someone permanent brain damage in the form of TD.

I've been on quetiapine for the last 4 years. If I continue taking quetiapine for my entire life does it become harmful or cause any side effects? In recent days, I stopped regularly checking-in with my doctor.

Take Diphenhydramine. It's OTC and safe.
