Question On A Cut In Dosage Of Hydrocodone.
UpdatedMy doctor cut me from Hydro 5/500 to 5/325. I have been feeling very strange lately. I am having non stop panic attacks and other physical symptoms. Could this small change actually be causing me withdrawal symptoms.? I have been on the 5/500 for about 5 years because of degenerative disc disease management. It is an awful feeling. I just wonder if this is the reason and if it will pass. I take 4 a day. Thank you.

Hello, Mary! How are you?
Yes, it could be causing some withdrawal symptoms and it may take a week or two for your body to adjust to the change. The Acetaminophen actually augments the action of the Hydrocodone, so lowering the amount of it changes how well the narcotic works in your body.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
