I can not afford the 150 after the free trial. Isn't there a drug company application I can fill out for assistance?

Doctors are legally and morally able to write prescriptions for generic Qysimia, saving their patients hundreds of $$$ per month. Qysimia is just a combination of 2 drugs that have been in use for decades. Phentermine is a diet pill that boosts your metabolism. Topiramate is an antiseizure med, also commonly used to prevent migraines in those who suffer from frequent migraines. A side effect of topiramate is it acts as an appetite suppressant. As Qysimia, you can expect to pay about $150 per month. The 2 generics together come in under $25 without using insurance. Ask your doctor whose side he/she is on? Yours or the drug company. You are paying the bills, they work for you and not for the drug company.
Cheaper Qysimia! My internist understands the lengths that I have gone to in order to succeed at weight loss, including 5 years on Weight Watchers and a lapband inserted in 2008. All attempts ended in minimal weight loss despite being anal about exercising and logging my portions. I am not an over eater; for me, it comes down to having a shot metabolism, period. Qysimia helps with this. My doctor writes a prescription for phentermine and one for topamax. Phentermine revs my metabolism and topamax quashes my appetite. My monthly cost for the 2 medications (insurance doesn't cover diet meds) is $24 total. I've lost 76 lbs in 13 months and have 15 lbs left to lose. Totally legal, just ask your doctor to right the generics rather than the brand name drug.
Could you use the money saved from not buying food to cover the cost?
Hi Diane,
I'm not aware of the drug company application you speak of. I would suggest that you speak with your local pharmacy about patient assistance programs so that you can afford your medication.
Good luck!
