Purbac DS contains the active ingredients Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, it is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections.

And it can be used for a dental infection, but the relevant question is: Was it prescribe to treat this dental infection?

If not and you just have some left over from a prior prescription, you may run into problems if you don't have enough to completely eradicate the infection, because you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.

On top of that, a dental infection does require proper follow up treatment from a dentist to fix the underlying issue that has caused it, or there is a high likelihood that it will just recur.
