Purbac contains the active ingredient Cotrimoxazole (Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim), which is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms.

From what I could gather, it can be used for dogs; as some dogs are prescribed it from vets. I don't know however, what the recommended dosage would be for a dog. You may want to call up a vet office to determine what a proper dosage would be based on the size of your dog or what type of dog it is.
