Prucalopride Makes Me Very Hungry All The Time (Page 3)
UpdatedIs anyone taking prucalopride resolor? Im just worried because since i started it four months ago, i feel very hungry all the time even 10-15 minutes after a meal. Is anyone using having the same experience? help
It took me 24 hours after 1st tablet to pass a bowel movement in which I hadn't passed in 14 days.!!
Go to a good naturepath and get your gut microbiome checked out! All the medications you are taking dont fix the root cause. Find a doctor that will help you find the root cause rather than mask your symptoms with medication after medication.

My 1st dose worked very.. emphatically, shall we say, within 2hrs of taking. I would recommend taking very first thing in the morning if you can, definitely not at night!
Do you know if its alright to take a laxative - like senna - lactulose if resolor deosnt work., Cause Im thinking of going on resolor but im reading that it deosnt always work so what if it deosnt - can you take a laxative too.
Hi I take reslor and I also take dulcoease and dulcolax with no issues. Hope this helps.
This is just like me I'm a week in and apart from feeling really sick, nothing at all. I'm scared it's not going to work at all and that I need to have a subtotal colectomy How long does it normally to get things shifting I have appetite what so ever
My son who is 14 is on prucalopride.First week 1 mg.second week 2mg.for four months.
Hey I'm similar situation to you, I have slow transit and my stomach gets so bloated with poo as a result. Did the prucalopride decrease your bloating?
Re: angela (# 45)
Hi im on Resolor and take Lactulose 30 mls daily i also take 3 pieces of licorice and a hot drink of molasses daily and take a glass or 2 of tomato juice and plenty of water and the resolor is helping as before taking it i was taking some of the other things plus 90 mg of senna 3 times a week and sometimes not going at all, it did have an effect quite swiftly only to tail off but iv persevered with it and now after several yrs on it its still helping immensely, i had to take the resolor continually for a few months after the initial fall in its productivity to see it really kick back in, if i miss a couple of doses i really pay for it with my bowel seizing up completely so id say stick with it
Re: Newfoodie (# 31)
Is it still working for you sorry I know this is an old post but I am at my end with feeling bloated and constipated 24/7. Done all the diets, drinking water even bisacodyll doesn't work. Need some hope
Re: AshB (# 49)
Hi yes it has dramatically reduced the bloating in my stomach, i was so distended and uncomfortable had to go up a size in jeans but since taking it things have improved, i still cant eat much more than a semi solid diet and certain foods dont digest well, i also still have to eat little and often and some nights i am still very bloated and get horrible pressure in my stomach and for some reason my lower back but by late morning its reduced and this is only on rare occasions now as long as im careful with my diet. Before the procalopride i was bloated all the time and i was scheduled for total removal of my whole bowel so its helped me immensely, i hope it works for you
Hi,
Did anyone ever stop or take a break from Resotrans? I was on it earlier this year, and it worked, but gave me massive headaches. After coming off, my bowels just 'froze' and were worse than even, even though the manufacturer says it does not cause rebound. I was only on for less than a week. Now I don't respond as well to some of the herbal medicine I used to take which helped me before. It's been a massive struggle.
Re: MikeZ (# 53)
Hi. I took a brief break and went back on it as my bowel too seized up again after stopping it, you should try to stick it out for longer than a week as i had bad headaches and leg pain for about a week or just over then they went away.
Re: Mitch (# 54)
Thank you...it was hard when I had massive headaches and left with nothing to take or no solution. I may try again. Its kind of scary though how a bowel can seize if you stop...they said no rebound effect which is a flat out lie. Ive never had my bowel stop like that even at my worst.
Are you on 1 or 2 mg? Thanks.
Re: MikeZ (# 55)
Hi Im on 2mg my bowel was seizing up before i started it and isnt great now i still have to take lactulose every day and senna at times but its made a big difference in that i now dont need surgery to have my bowel removed. I found the only thing that would shift the headaches was co dydramol ask your gp to prescribe you some. I hope things go better this time for you
Re: Mitch (# 56)
Thanks for the reply! So the co dydramol was only for the first week, until the headaches went away naturally? Did thia cause any loss of effectiveness of prucalopride given it has codeine in it, and opioids can cause constipation?
Re: MikeZ (# 57)
Hi i didnt take them for long may be one or two a day for end of first week, i tried to do without them if the headaches were just background i only had the horrendous ones for about the first 3/4 days where i took about 3 each day in 3 separate doses and as it was the first week of taking the prucalopride and i wasnt really thinking id see any benefit in one week id say i saw no worsening of condition by taking the co dydramol. Hope this helps

RE: "My son went into the bathroom after me and it looked like world war 2 had taken place. The mortification of it. I'm so upset."
Did you not clean up after yourself? Bleach? Toilet brush? Disinfectant wipes? Air fresher? I don't know any self-respecting adult who goes to the loo and after a particularly explosive motion 'Doesn't clean up after themselves'. You should be mortified - not for what you produced, but for not cleaning up - and for your child having to see that.
Re: jac2006 (# 21)
Hi. Glad I saw your post. I had tried changing my routine when after 8 months the tablets stopped working. I did see that there was no evidence of a benefit in increasing the dose but after 2 days, with 1 in the morning and 1 at night I'm ecstatic to see results!
Guessing it's going to be an ongoing learning experience as the body gets used to this product, I'm feeling a need to keep changing my meds to prevent my body becoming immune to it again....
Looking forward to my next biofeedback appointment! :)
