Propylene Glycol In Prescription Drugs
Updatedmy wife is allergic to propylene glycol and it is in many
products - oral otc's,foods, creams, ointments, lotions, soaps shaving cream etc. We have eliminated most of the over the counters but am looking for a list of prescription items that would have propylene glycol in them. Does anyone have the site for such a list?

There's also a PDF file which has a list of various items, including some topical Rx medications here:
allergeaze.com/PDFs/NA/NA55.PDF
Another webpage stated that, "Propylene glycol is commonly used as a drug solubilizer in topical, oral, and injectable medications." - so my guess is there's probably a much bigger list out there that isn't very easy to obtain.
I hope this helps!
Sorry to hear that your wife is suffering through the same allergic reaction to propylene glycol as I am. I find it quite frustrating and difficult to easily obtain the ingredients of any given product since PG has so many different names. From what I have learned, when one is allergic to PG, one may be allergic to a family of chemicals. Here are the websites that I frequent to reference and also use to help me in finding products without PG.

I find that reading the ingredients label is just not enough. I have found products that do not list PG in the ingredient list, but upon visiting the company website, PG is listed as an ingredient on their website. I believe that I read somewhere that companies are not required to list PG for OTC products. PG is pretty much in everything. So be careful and do your homework. Good luck!
I found the!t out today! Dr suggested hydrocortisone. Package did not list proprylene glyco!. But I called company phone number on box. They confirmed it does have it. Internet confirmed too!
