Updated

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Linda~I am in with an attorney for a class action suit against Amgen. They had written broken femurs only so I sent an email asking them why they are being so very specific because Prolia also strikes at the gumline killing the roots to our teeth and informed them that implants are approximately $10,000 each. I also mentioned there is one lady that lost all of her upper teeth. This can happen ONLY with Prolia. He returned my call and I will call his office Monday morning. I'm pretty sure I can get them to take it and my dentist will stand behind me. Do you want to be included too? The law firm is in the US in Georgia. Just on broken femurs-they had a lady from almost every State in the US. Now, I am asking each of you to think hard and long about what Prolia did to you that could ONLY be caused by Prolia and I'm very sure they will not include skin problems and our hair loss problems. I know Diana O. could possibly sign up because she had to have surgery on her thyroid due 100% to Prolia. Start posting and I will count and let them know and if they accept us, I will post their phone number. Let me know. Pood

I would love to join - - I'm wondering if this can be proved - the thyroids. I've unearthed some minimal info that Prolia seems to alter PTH in what ways specifically how, I'm not sure. But I was one sick puppy, for sure. Would love to see some of us compensated for our money spent on trying to get well, let alone not die, and for pain and suffering as well.

I would be interested in a class action suit but I do not want to include my endocrinologist because I need him for controlling my thyroid issues. It had nothing to do with Prolia because I had that problem before I took Prolia. My doctor gave me the drug to destroy my thyroid and now on synthroid daily. Keep me posted. I will start the implants in 3 more months and sure dread it but these dentures are miserable. I am only interested in suing the drug company.

Linda~that is what I am asking him to do. Include those of us that lost teeth from Prolia because there is really no other explanation. As of now the suit is strictly for broken femurs (thigh bones) and I'm pretty certain I can get him to include teeth too and also the fact that vertebrae break after quitting Prolia so that pain in your back ladies is most probably from broken vertebrae. This is a class action suit so we pay zero and divide the 60% between us because you get much more than I do because your damages are more. Hopefully, when you found out about the teeth issue will still be within the Statute of Limitations of your state. Mine were only discovered last month. You might call an attorney and just ask what the Statute of Limitations is for where you live. I am hoping I can get the implants paid for by Amgen. I know where Diana O lives and will send her an email. Can anyone think of anything else that has happened with Prolia and those drugs behind it that would include more of us. Heart problems caused by Prolia and caused hospitalization and we can trace it back to Prolia ONLY. It cannot be anything 'normal' that Amgen could say they didn't cause it. The burden of proof is up to us. Jan lives in Canada and they managed to save her front tooth so she cannot join, not being a US citizen. We did have a lady here from Canada that did have the broken femur though. We get this one through and attorneys in Canada will have good grounds for following us in the US. Will write more Monday after I talk with the gentleman. He seems to have a pretty good knowledge of what Prolia is and does.

How about nerve pain? That was just about immediate after the shot. I had to eventually have a radiofrequency ablation to the nerves. 85% effective. 17000 in copays the year after shot, 22000 the next year. Have not lost teeth, just jaw pain. Have had 12000 of dental work though. Jaw pain much better. I guess us calcium goes teeth go, huh?

Just tell me what I need to do? Get the cost of the implants? I had one implant in Last October but haven't had the tooth inserted and have a total denture on top. There were two times that I lost two teeth a day, just broke off at the gum line. I have already paid over $4,000 and just getting started. I have dental insurance but only covers $1,000 a year so that is why I have had to pay so much. It is not like I don't take care of my teeth and have gone to the dentist every 6 months for several years. I live in Arkansas.

Please include me in these scenarios. I too am loosing teeth. The bonelessness in my jaw adds to the implant cost and recovery time. I do not have a femur break. My constant bone and muscle pain is debilitating, my compromised immune system is ridiculous and my digestion and gastro/urine issues are humiliating. Rashes, healing time and muscle weakness create issues... and then memory fog is crazy bad. I'm 58 and I feel like I'm 100.

Keep me in the loop...

Let me know what I can do to help.

Poodle, I would like to know more about the Thyroid implications of this poison drug. Following the one and only shot I’ve had (March 31, 2017), I was found to have a Thyroid disorder (hyperthyroidism), probably the reason why I have lost 16 pounds since that date. I have palpitations and shaky hands since..... and I feel as if I am constantly running a marathon.... What are the most common thyroid problems caused by this poison drug? Thanks for sharing your knowledge....

I've shared my journey with hyperparathyroidism and its nasty effects (it can kill a person....it sure took away my quality of life).

I too experienced Hyperparathyroidism and Hypocalcemia as a result of this poison. The painful stiffness was unbearable; far greater than what I experience as "Just" side effects. In addition, the effect on my brain was frightening. I couldn't process information very well, I even forgot my ZIP CODE??

It could only be Prolia:

Loose and breaking teeth - and gum disease - getting implants
Bone loss around teeth
Autoimmune disorders (got diagnosis's of): Syjogrens disease/syndrome
IBS - gluten intolerant
Copd
Histamine overreaction

Other side effects I could list are many...

Janet~sorry -- gluten intolerant cannot be blamed on Prolia even tho it brings it out in us. It is encoded in your DNA. Sorry about that one. I have it too. It's name is Celiac Disease and if you are very lucky it will go into remission. Mine has not.

Sad news for all of us~this particular attorney is not including Prolia in his class action suit because he says that Amgen has put the side effects on the labels. Like we get to read the labels???? He says there is an atty doing ONJ in NY or NJ, S???? Weiss is the name of the firm.

So sorry about this one. I had my heart set on that firm. Pood

Would be interesting to know how many of us were shown labels. I couldn't even find a decent list researching online. My current dentists will not work on people who have had a certain list of these drugs, until they are two years out. I should ask him his thoughts.....he's awfully busy.

I'm having the exact same symptoms.... After this horrible injection of Prolia poison I am even memory impaired....

Diana~My dentist told me not to come back until ALL symptoms of Prolia were gone. He said if you have any problems go to the guys that do the implants, etc. I was sure 99.9% of Prolia was gone so I went in and got the shock of my life. The attorneys in NY or NY is S(something) Weiss and they are doing ONJ and I don't know if that includes or excludes damaged teeth from Prolia. The atty said that Amgen has done very well putting side effects on their labels. Who has seen a label????? All we get is our Docs telling us how wonderful it is and they have had zero problems with it. I would have a very difficult time filing a complaint against my Dr. since she is on the State Board of Medicine where those kind of problems are solved - take away licenses, asked to leave the state, etc.

The name of the other firm is Seeger Weiss. I just filled out a form and asked if they would care to add more than just the ONJ issue. You all can do the same too. Maybe if they get enough of us, they will pay attention. Pood

Linda- please get in touch with me. I am looking at scheduling 7 implants. I have listed my side effects many times here and can do the same. I want to see if I can get some help from an attorney. I called 2 bad drug attorneys but they were not yet involved with prolia.

So, after a couple of good weeks, now I am back to crushing spasms and pain. I am writing this waiting to see the facial pain Dr. because of jaw pain, and difficulty opening my mouth. It has only been a month since I was here last.
