I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

C Louise, yes I can see your post. Are you saying the side effects will continue and they will get worse? Because that is what is happening with me. The side effect I got and the reason I stopped after one shot are getting worse. I was given the shot by an oncologist and when they ask for my side effect and why I was stopping the shot, I was told tingling and numbness in the legs and arms was not one of them. The blew me off. I did not have any of this prior to receiving the shot and now 8 months later it is unbearable. Is what your saying is that this will not go away in time?

Victoria. So glad you wrote. Please read my previous posts on this site. I believe I started posting in October 2014. They are lengthy but it's because i am just sick about my dad's condition and I hope to have other people be informed of what happened to him after this awful inj. Please call the FDA and ask to talk to a pharmacist. That's who I finally talked to, after talking to several ER doctors, hospital doctors, etc and this pharmacist is the ONLY person who told me that the medication will be out of the body after 6 months but people might still have side effects long after the 6 months. I don't think anyone really knows for sure how long the side effects will last but I see several people on this site who continue to be so so sick much longer than 6 months. It's an awful drug. My dad is now home on Hospice. He started losing weight just 2 weeks after the inj. and has lost over 30 lbs. total. He hasn't walked on his own since 4 days after the inj. and the list of ill effects goes on as you can read about in my previous posts. And like you, NO doctors will admit that Prolia caused any of his problems. I know it did. He had none of these problems before being given the drug. I sure wish we could get this drug off the market to save more victims and even more, I wish the ignorant doctors would stop telling people things that are not true about this drug. Please let me know if I can help you with a phone # for the FDA if you should decide to contact them. I'm really hoping many people will contact them either by phone or file a report thru the FDA website on their Medwatch link. I am going to keep after them until I get some satisfaction. My dad is at the end of life now and before this drug he was still walking and mowing his own lawn and doing normal activities. I will be thinking about you as I know what you're experiencing.

This drug also made your dad loose weight? I was a tiny person to begin with but I have lost an additional 5 lbs. I was 104 and am now 99lbs. that is a lot for someone so small. I tried going to the web site but could not find what you were talking about. can you post that site again, not just or me but for others also. thank you for all your information and prayers and {{HUGS}} to you and your Dad

Hi Victoria. I was hoping to hear from you again. You were on my mind all day today at work. I am copying and pasting my comment for you (it was #583 at least from what I see). Are you planning to report to the FDA? Good for you if you are planning to. They need to hear from as many of us as possible. Yes, my dad started losing weight within the first 2 weeks after the infusion and has continued to lose up to this day. I hope you can see all the rest of my comments on this site as well to see all he's had happen. I think I have read every comment on here that have been posted by all the people. One day I hope I will find the right professional to listen to me. I've tried to explain dad's situation to so many doctors and they have all sloughed me off so far.

If you go to fda.gov then on the very first page, on the left hand side under Recalls and alerts, click on Medwatch/Safety Alerts (in blue), on the next page you will see a reddish/orange box that says "Report a Problem", click that and on the right side you'll see Consumer/Patient in a blue box. Once you click that it should say "About Problem" and just follow down and fill in any information that you wish. I didn't list all meds taken or any of that. I basically gave them all the side effects and poor health my dad has been in since the inj., lack of prescribing doctor knowledge, lack of ER doctor knowledge at all, etc. Please let me know if I can help further. Joyce B., I feel your pain. I had only one injection in June of last year. Not only have 7 of my teeth rotted out but I've also lost the vast majority of my left jaw bone. There was indeed bone growth as promised, unfortunately it was withing my spinal canal in the form of spurs as well as closing, almost entirely strangulating the nerve roots from where they exit. I'm now only 47 years of age and still suffer from swelling and pain at the injection site. My bones continue to crumble rapidly, more rapidly than before the Prolia toxins were introduced into my system. From approximately July through October of last year, I checked in and reported my degradation to the group as I simply was dumbfounded by this incredible mistake I made in accepting the injection to begin with. My spine from T-2 through C-4 is now in 13 separate pieces. C-2 through C-7 are in what my Dr's call "Severe" condition and failing. I've lost feeling in more places than modesty permits me to mention however, the left side of my face is only the least of them.
At my current rate of degeneration, I know I've not very much longer to suffer before the involuntary functions of both my respiratory and cardiac systems are shut down by this incredulous and tragic turn of events, as the formidial regions of the vertebrae continue to diminish in diameter. I've recently began loosing my sight due to a new Occipital Neuralgia that only one year ago wasn't present nor even foreseeable.
Please, continue your work in spreading the word about Prolia, as long as you can. I beg that people would know of this forum prior to taking the injection... Had I known half the issues I've read here, surely I'd never become an Amgen victim.

I know that this is a terrible lethal drug. My side effects continue but are being managed with Prednisone which has its own set of side effects. I will keep you in my prayers.

Going for knee replacement tomorrow. Anxious to see how this affects all my Prolia problems. God is in control.

My dad passed away On Saturday. His true decline started In August 2014, 2 days after his first Prolia injection(read all previous posts). None of his side effects were ever monitored by his doctor, and we have no idea what his bones look like being 8 months after the lethal drug (I would like to know but was told a bone scan would not be feasible at this point) so I will always wonder since he had so much "bone pain" during his last weeks and it got worse each day. His hip and leg bones including shin bones, knees hurt so bad he could barely stand it and required much morphine (he was on Hospice care at home) to try to control the bone pain. I hope you will all continue to tell people about this awful drug and I wish all of you well. I hope one day there will be a lawsuit or some act that will get this drug off the market. Deep in my mind I know that won't happen as once these drugs are on the market, I think its almost impossible to get them off the market. I pray for all of you who are having problems after Prolia.

I just got my second injection this past week. I haven't experienced any of the issues that others have experienced, which I am truly thankful. I would like insurance companies to allow us to get a density scan after a year being on this drug (just to ensure positive results), but for now...you must wait 2 years. ??

After a bone density scan in April 2013 that showed osteopenia, I had a single injection of PROLIA that ruined my life. I am still suffering from side effects of this poison as it badly compromised my immune system but had no positive impact on results of my bone density test in April 2015. I am so sorry for all people that had a misfortune of getting PROLIA injection...

Gayle, Check with your ins. co. Mine will allow me to have one once a year being I have osteoporosis, "but MUST say check, screening, preventative. If not mine will not cover it. check with yours and see if it might be the same.

As your doctors to write "Medically Necessary" on the script. Than ask your insurance if they will cover the DEXA scan if it is noted "Medically Necessary." Best of luck

I did request, but they denied. I'm going to check with my doctor about putting emphasis on the doctor's orders (as someone suggested).

Had one shot of prolia one day later legs were so stiff i could barely walk. Refused the shot when it was time to get it again. Very bad drug in my opinion. Took 4weeks to move normally and still not completely. Normal.

Suggestion:
- Initial conversation you had with your doctor about Prolia and any side effects.
- Your side effects

Follow-up with updated reports on condition to FDA.

Amgen Health 877-562-4111. They advise all reports will be forwarded to FDA. Report to the FDA just to be sure.

My mom had an episode like this. She was getting ready for work and out of nowhere she just, went blank? She looked at the Christmas tree and asked if we'd had Christmas yet. It was terrifying. This was 2 weeks after her shot.
