Prolia Side Effects (Page 19)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
I am a qualraplegic injured in 1974 and permanently confined to a wheelchair. I am 57 years old and have been prescribed Prolia injection. After reading the pharmacists info sheet and the side effects, I am very reluctant to take it. UTI is a side effect and I have an indwelling catheter so I am very concerned about the possible side effects. Skin blisters are also sited as a possible side and pressure sores are also something that I need to be very careful to avoid.
Are there any other quads out there with indwelling catheters that have had this inejection and would you be willing to share your experience with the drug?
Nervous about Prolia ...
Three months and one week now since my PROLIA shot. I posted several times here describing the various side effects that I am experiencing. A new sideffects developed yesterday, which is not painful but very annoying - a dark spot image is floating in my right eye. I have never had anything like that before. Did anybody else had something like that hapenning to them after PROLIA?
I have had severe stomach and back pains. Very bad constipation. I will not take another injection. It has been four months and still ongoing. Also very bad nausea
I only can to tell to those victims of Prolia, I am in the same bote, if I tell you how I feel I would not finish this afternoon, the only thing I will say is this: Never ever I have being so meserable, I have all those side efects that are discribed in all those comments and much more, only my feith in God keep me alive, this is no life what I am living
Hi it's exactly 3 months since my first injection & I feel fantastic, I get aches & pains but thankfully I no it's working, mind over matter, I don't let things get me down, just keep pushing myself to stay positive & motivated! Hope that helps, I will have again no problem!
Please tell me what symptoms u r having. My injection was 4 months ago. Been sick all summer. Stomach and back pain. Nausea fatigue headache not sleeping nausea bloating constipation. Will never take again
When people experience severe back and bone, muscle and floating pain, rashes all over the body, nausea, dizziness, and other symptoms and may become bedridden for over 4 months, they need to follow common sense. The other dark side of Prolia is the possibility of bone fracture....... Why suffer debilitating side effects to bring on fractures?
If doctors and drug salespeople had to take the injections, they would refuse. If your doctor keeps urging you to continue the injections and you are having reactions, ask yourself what damage is being done that you do not know about? What about your heart, liver, kidneys, etc.? Why would you put yourself through months of side effects when you would never consider taking a prescription that would give you a skin rash? Why would any good medical professional advise you to continue this when he/she would never prescribe a drug that you have a reaction to?
my creatinin levels went up because of pain meds, my dr.took me off them and told me to drink 24 ounces of water a day. I passed next test and then got first shot of Prolia 4 days ago and haven't noticed any problems so far but don't know if I will.
Had Prolia shot in may 2013 and am still trying to recover. Nurse gave shot in muscle of arm and it has swollen andhad fluid in joint. Am having to go to therapy to try to get fluid worked out. Will not get it again. Neck and shoulder pain. Instructions says to give just under skin. For you still taking be on guard shot is given right.
Could you share what therapy you had to assist you, please? Had same issues!
Thanks!
Good for you! Do not take this. Who would willingly take a shot of poison? I am 75 years old and have 3 TRAUMATIC fractures of L-3, 4 and 5 (not osteoporotic fractures) that happened when I had a twisting, torquing, fall during a recent move to our new home. I have been told for 35 years that the Dexascans showed that I had such severe osteoporosis that I was lucky to just be walking and that if I had a fracture, it would never heal and I would probably be dead within a year. All of the drugs have been prescribed for me, including Prolia and I have refused them all and I have interestingly never had a fracture before now. The incredible thing is that the doctor who repaired my L-4 fracture said that my osteoporosis is only MILD and was not responsible for my fractures (that my twisting type of fall was what caused them) and that the other 2 would heal on their own. That was about 3 weeks ago and the pain has resolved and I am confident that the fractures are healing, This leads me to the inescapable conclusion that the Dexascan is not an accurate predictor of bone integrity and this is borne out by many recent studies. These meds have been proven to cause way more problems than they prevent and yet the drug companies persuade physicians to keep on prescribing them and patients, trusting their doctors, keep on taking them. Do your research. The best way to prevent and/or cure osteoporosis is with diet, weight-bearing exercise, Vitamin D with K1 and K2 and dietary Calcium - not drugs!
I have also had the Prolia shot 3 months ago and will never have another. I didn't realize until I read some of these messages about Prolia that I have some of the same symptoms. The dry scalp, bladder infection, and now I have this pain in back of my right ear that is like a stabbing pain. I have had it for 3 wks and now it is moving up the side of my head and I now believe that it could be caused form the Prolia shot. I actually went to the ER a week ago, I thought I might have a brain
tumor or a stroke. They are sending me to a neurologist, my first visit is 2 wks away
and I hope they can give me an answer. Not until I started reading these messages did I even think about the Prolia. This is a stabbing pain just behind my right ear, it only last for about 3 seconds but comes very often. I'm 80 yrs old, have always been in good shape, lots of energy, exercise , and feel blessed with good health until now. Could it be the Prolia? Love to hear from someone that has had the
same problem.
Besure to tell Neurologist about the Prolia and have him document it, call your MD who prescribed th Prolia
and lastly report your symptoms to your insurance and FDA!
Neurontin is very good for nerve pain. I had the same kind of pain, but it was related to shingles in the roof of my mouth !! I have had 4 outbreaks of shingles, since the Prolia shot ! Any connection??? Lowering the immune system, I do not know.
I had prolia a month ago and thought I had no side effects but 2 days ago I got this floater in my left eye and went to specsavers for an eye test but they did not comment on it. but I have not been able to keep awake for the last 2 weeks and I wonder if it is down to prolia has anyone else experience this
It is four months since my single PROLIA shot in May 2013. I posted several times thrugh this discussion describing the various painfull side effects that I continue experiencing throughout my body, perhaps with a slightly less intensity as time goes by. It has been 3 weeks now that I have developed another side effect, which is not really painful but very annoying and irritating - a dark spot image continually floating in my right eye. I hope it will dissapear with time as I have never had anything like that before PROLIA.
Might want to check with Opthomologist. Might not be Prolia, might be Retina problem that you do not want to ignore!
i have that too... floating in and out of vision, started about 6 weeks after injection and is getting worse... never a problem before, and others have mentioned it here too.
Not retina problem, already had tha checked out.
Thanks,
I have had 3 prolia shots over a period of one and a half years. A month and a half after my third shot I started having pain in my right leg and found out I had a stress facture in my femoral neck. I had done nothing at out of the ordinary to cause a stress fracture. The doctor that perscriped prolia said prolia was not the cause but the orthopedic doctor said it was because the stress fracture that I had is seen in athelets and I had done nothing athletic. I was on crutches for 8 weeks and then it took about that long to get to where I didn't limp. Now my other leg is having pain in it and I am afraid that I could develop a stress fracture it that leg now. My husband and I enjoy walking and hiking but I can't do that any more since long walks and hikes make my leg hurt worse. It has been 7 months since my last shot and the pain won't go away. How long will the pain last---will it ever go away??? Prolia is a dangerous drug and it should be taken of the market. If someone has had similar stress fractues and continual pain in their leg let me know if the pain will eventually go away.
