I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

I speak for myself , being a medical professional I know the difference between old age and serious side effects of a medication . BUT very glad you have not has these effects . After 2 injections my bone density did not improve one bit , in fact got worse !!

Extreme scalp and face itching after my fourth shot of Prolia. Absolutely excruciating. I am now on steroids and hoping this will all go away soon. I will not take any more shots. What can u do once it is in your system? I work out and take my calcium so I am looking for a more natural way to combat my osteoporosis. At first I did not connect this to Prolia, but I am now sure it is.

I have reported to the FDA 4 times by email and I have called them several times. I called them 2 weeks ago to tell them there needs to be a way to tell prescribing doctors to STOP telling people that if you don't feel good or have side effects once you take a Prolia infusion that you will feel better at the end of the 6 months because the drug will be out of your body. I told them this is just not true. The lady transferred me to a pharmacist at FDA. He is the first to shed any light on what happens to people who take this awful drug. He told me the drug actually should be out the body at the end of 6 months, however, people can still suffer side effects for an unknown amount of time after that. He said this is a very well know fact about drugs like this that doctors should learn in their "Pharmacology" class in college. I told him the doctors MUST let people know this (that they may still have side effects long after 6 months) and I asked how we can make sure this happens. He said the first step is to report thru Medwatch on the FDA website. I have reported my dad's side effects 4 times on there plus the fact that the side effects last longer than 6 months and I hope all of you who have continued problems from Prolia will do the same. I also called Amgen. Got a girl named Kim. The first one at Amgen who would actually listen. I told her the same. I want the Amgen drug reps to stress to doctors that they cannot try to talk people into getting this drug because the effects will only last 6 months. The FDA told me that any comments that Amgen receives, must legally be reported to the FDA. There is a way to make sure your comments to Amgen are reported to the FDA. It's thru the Freedom of Information Act and the FDA can tell you how to receive these reports. The FDA can also give you #s if you think your doctor has been negligent in how he handled you with the Prolia. My dad is now home and on Hospice and in his last days. He has not walked on his own since 2 days after receiving his one and only Prolia infusion. It ruined him. You can read my previous comments on this site about my dad if you wish to see if you're experiencing any of the same health problems/side effects as him and you have received Prolia. I am just sick at what this drug did to my dad. He never had a broken bone in his whole life but now has had 3 broken bones (pelvic bone, elbow and lower back) all within 6 months time of receiving Prolia. A lot of good this drug for Osteoporosis did! I am begging as many of you as possible to report to Amgen and the FDA. I also suggested to Amgen and the FDA that the literature/inserts/magazine ads for Prolia must include warning information in regards to the ongoing side effects.

I had my 1st shot in July 2014, When it came time for my second in January I refused. the tingling in my arms legs and face was horrible. Here it is almost April, I thought after 6 months it would be out of my system but the systems, tingling which feels like ice on my face, legs and arms is getting worse every day. I never, ever should have taken that shot. And like you the doctor say it is not from the shot. but I DID NOT have this before. It is getting so bad I have not life. all I do is cry and every day get more and more depressed.

I just got my second injection this past week. I haven't experienced any of the issues that others have experienced, which I am truly thankful. I would like insurance companies to allow us to get a density scan after a year being on this drug (just to ensure positive results), but for now...you must wait 2 years. ??

My mom had an episode like this. She was getting ready for work and out of nowhere she just, went blank? She looked at the Christmas tree and asked if we'd had Christmas yet. It was terrifying. This was 2 weeks after her shot.

I was getting my shot at an oncology office. When I called and said I was not going to come back for my 2nd shot due to several side effects, all they asked me was "the doctor would like to know what are the side I am experiencing". When I told them Tingling and numbness in arms and legs, urine leakage, which I did not have before and still have now 8 moths after 1st shot, they said that is not a side effect! I just had surgery for the stress incontinence. I'm not even sure if they told the doctor of my side effects. I am so, so sorry I took this drug. Once it it in your system it is there forever.

Maybe a class action lawsuit would make them aware that they need to get this drug off the market. After one shot I was so bad I will never have another. Vitamin d and calcium is all I will take. My Dr tried to get me to take another new shot that just came out, I said no. The pharmaceutical. Co.are just trying to recoup the money they spent developing the drug. They hide all the bad effects or prolia would have never made it on the market.

I did file a report. At Mayo, the gastroenterologist believed all my symptoms were related to the Prolia, but other specialists I've had to see have not agreed.

Three weeks after my second shot I got so very sick I now MUST be on Oxygen . Thats been 18 months ago and no improvement .

I have had one injection of Prolia. I have suffered from abdominal pain, in which they gave me meds to help with this. Two weeks later I noticed a rash all over my Breast and torso, I was given prescription cream and told to take Benedryl. I am now suffering from severe hip and lower back pain, also I was told this is a side effect of the medication. I was told to take Tylenol for the pain. The hip and back pain makes it difficult to walk, sit for long periods of time at work and sleep.

The FDA replied that until they have sufficient number of people complaining to them about Prolia, it is on the market and they are so sorry for me. Yes, someone in DC is going boohoo. Yeah, like that's happening. If we write enough to them they may ask the manufacturer to put stronger warning labels on it for physicians. I think it will talk a Class Action Law Suit to get this off the market. I have a great attorney and anyone that wants to join me, let me know. We will gather names, data from this poison and how it really doesn't help the bone, just makes more brittle bones.

Like it did a lot of good to report it to the FDA. Got an email back that said if they keep getting more they will start upping the labels/packaging inserts for the MDs to read, like they really read them????? I'm about 100% sure AMGEN did that human study in India and sent the FDA false results. Really poor people will die for a tiny amount of our money.

I received my Prolia shot in late May after being told there were no side affects. I instantly acquired a rash on my face, weight gain around my waist, cellulite in my thighs, bloating, and constipation. I have to exercise to counteract these side effects, but no amount of exercise can remove these side effects, so I am hoping my system with return to normal after the 6 months. I will not submit my body to a second shot and think the cost is outrageous in addition to the drug being detrimental.

I had a single injection of PROLIA in May 2013 to improve my bone density score showing osteopenia. This poison didn't help a bit with osteopenia and compromised my immune system. I am still suffering with many side effects of this horrible drug...,

My GPadvised me not to take Prolia as it is still a relatively new drug and after reading all these postings I'm so glad I took his advice! My rheumotologist is the one who recommended it and as he gave me the Prolia brochure he said "don't read about the side effects; ignore them". I used to take Fosomax and then Actonel - nothing made my osteoporosis better so on the advice of my doctor, I stopped. I now take only calcium (1200mg) with vitamin D (1600mg). I lift weights to try to build bone. But that's about it. How about you?
