Prolia Side Effects (Page 154) (Top voted first)

Updated

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Re: Dawn (# 2791) Expand Referenced Message

I,too live in Canada and would love to hear if a lawyer says there’s a good chance of winning a law suit.
It was not even an endocrinologist who prescribed this for me, but a Obgyn!

An Ob - Gyn ? Is that within the scope of practice ?

Well I am still experiencing the same. I have asthma for 14 years and never until now had an asthmatic attack. Since my one and only injection I now have had 2 asthmatic attacks that sent me to the hospital. I also have had severe shortness breathe and now swelling of ankles, first left and now both. I have researched this drug extensively and these are also side effects. I am only 3 months post injection. Trying to find a lawyer in Toronto, Canada as I am not letting this go.

Dawn, I too live in Toronto, and am living with the side effects of prolia. I have been off the drug for over 2 years and am still suffering from sores in the mouth which at times make eating very painful. I also lost a front tooth due to an infection which came on after my 3rd injection. I am still seeing an oral specialist who is still trying to help my problem. If you do find a lawyer in Toronto, I would be very interested.

I'm in Canada also. It seems that there are quite a few of us here... I hope we can find a way to connect.

Re: Maritere (# 2809) Expand Referenced Message

I have contacted the “contact page” that was in my message giving permission for both you and Dawn to contact me. You both would have to do the same. It is helpful to talk to others who are dealing with this horrible drug.

Re: Susanna (# 2824) Expand Referenced Message

I just read in Save Our Bones that the ( U.S. ) Supreme Court just sided with Merck in a multi party suit regarding fractures caused by Fosamax.
The reasoning was that since the FDA did not require a warning, Merck could not be held responsible! !!!

Re: Sal (# 2829) Expand Referenced Message

Then the FDA itself should be required to an issue a warning. You can't just poison people and walk away.

Re: Lizzie (# 2828) Expand Referenced Message

Apparently, the FDA isn't REQUIRED to do anything. I wonder who is in charge of the FDA. Anyone know? It sure would help a lot of people if they were REQUIRED.

I don’t know exactly when the parties in the suit were prescribed Fosamax. I am old enough to remember Thalidomide, and how the FDA swiftly acted and banned it in America while babies in Europe were being born with horrendous deformities. How things have changed ! It has been profits over people for some time, and only getting worse, Still, it seems to me that the ethical thing for the manufacturer to do would have been to warn people. I am old enough to remember Thalidomide and how swiftly the FDA
acted to ban the drug in the U. S. while babies in Europe were being born with horrendous deformities. How times have changed.

There are other ways to treat and/or prevent osteoporosis besides an injection like Prolia you may be allergic too. I read about the bad side effects and immediately canceled my prescription.

Definitely, there is a more alkaline diet and weight bearing exercise, also Yoga and Pilates.

It is also important to be our own advocate and not allow ourselves to be intimidated .

Re: Sal (# 2840) Expand Referenced Message

Hi. I'm from the UK and my consultant has suggested that I take this drug. The main reason was because my latest DXA scan showed reduction in bone in my left hip. After looking this drug up I find it does nothing for bone loss in the hip. Why does this drug continually be prescribed? I thank you all for sharing your experience of this poison.

Don’t forget Save our Bones, that one is especially informative, not only about diet and exercise, but the latest research and the latest news about Big Pharma. If you live in or near New York City there is a Physiatrist ( that is Physical Medicine and Rehabilatation
who has developed a program of particular Yoga poses for Osteoporosis, his name is
Dr. Fishman on east 58th st. Best wishes

Re: Karen (# 2870) Expand Referenced Message

Congratulations on refusing. I too have growths on my fingers and toes thanks to Prolia. There are specific exercises that build bone. For me, I use DVD’s that I hav3 had for years of TTAPP which I alternate with DVD’sof Miranda Esmonde White. I know there are other exercises out there. In my case my thoracic spine is especially brittle and I have had fractures there so I especially need exercises for that area. Good health.
