Prolia Side Effects (Page 151)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
What about dialysis patients, can this medicine be given?
Who knows this.
Re: Darcy (# 3000)
Sorry but I was unsuccessful. The Better Bones Blog by Susan Brown is part of the Women’s Health Network. Perhaps you can find it that way, or by Dr Susan Brown
Re: Sal (# 3002)
Thank you, Sal, for trying to find that Prolia report on the Better Bones Blog by Dr. Susan Brown who should share this info freely in my opinion. Since its SO varied, only open sharing of all Prolia effects will help us persevere in our recoveries. ??
Re: Darcy (# 3003)
It would be a good idea if she would join this group.
As a professional, she would be a valuable resource. Another excellent resource is Save Our Bones, an online resource.
Re: Giralda (# 3001)
I don't think it's recommended for dialysis patients. If you do a Google search for Prolia side effects you should be able to find the information.
I've had my first Prolia injection a week ago. The past two days I've been feeling shock sensations in my legs, feet, arms and hands. Has anyone else experienced this?
Re: Marman (# 3006)
Not shock sensations, but severe muscle spasms and joint pain. It affected my thyroid, and my immune system has not been strong,
Two injections of Prolia caused a boney tumor to develop over my eyesocket. It is now part of my skull. It's inoperable. These meds will deposit bone matter wherever it feels like ...not throughout your spine, hip, etc. Most are cases of bone formations under the tongue. Inoperable and dangerous. None of these drugs are worth the hype. Be careful.
Re: Sal (# 3007)
I have a friend that I warned about Prolia but she took it anyway because her doctor assured her that it was a good drug. Hope she doesn’t have these horrible problems
Re: Marman (# 3006)
My advice to you is do not have any more infusions. I had 7 before I absolutely refused to be bullied into more. Every GP assured me that my symptoms were not related to Prolia. I changed medicos several times and not one agreed that my body aches and pains or thyroid problems were associated with it. I have an aching jaw on the left side.which is really bad at night and when I contacted Amgen Australia they said, yes they can be symptoms but they are very rare. My dentist found no problem with my teeth. They either lie or not many folk contact them.I am 81 now and I rue the day that this poison was foisted onto me.
Re: Marion (# 3010)
Hi, very excellent advice. I also had 7 shots and as I progressed, my pains became worst, unbearable back, neck, legs! I also had many of other the horrible side effects of this poison. I wish I had done research before I ever took the first shot, I trusted my oncologist, and she later apologized for ordering it for me. When I had to go to my GP for pain medicine, and told him I had been taken Prolia, he checked my records and was not notified that I was taking this horrible drug, he said he would have called me in to his office to tell me never take another shot, he said he would not give it to his patients! I am still suffering from the damage this drug did to my body! 2015 was my last shot. Now being given to bone cancer patients. POISON for me, thanks for your post.
Prolia was the worst drug I have ever taken. I have had most of the horrible side effects of this horrible drug. I have permanent muscle and joint damage, back problems, vertigo, skin issues and hair loss. As I have stated many time, Prolia was a horrible drug for me and I will never take it again. Poison for my whole body and nerve system. Wish I had researched it before I ever took it. Horrible side effects.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Jaw problems for sure which began almost immediately after the first of my 7 injections the last of which was 2 years ago. I also have aching thigh bones none of which has dissipated. Why I didn't twig before allowing myself to be bullied into more than the first I'll never know. I'm afraid we just trust our medicos. Never again.
I have had a very bad outbreak of psoriasis and my daughter gave me a treatment with her blue light that she ordered for her condition which is all the time for her. I have had this disease also since my Prolia treatment. I did not have it before the Prolia treatments which I no longer get, but still have problems 2 years after stopping all shots. Aching bones, hair falling out, Psoriasis, bone lumps on my body, skin irritations all over my body.
Re: Lynne (# 3)
Unfortunately some side effects never leave.....Hope for your sake they do
Re: Verwon (# 1)
I’ve had two injections of Prolia, six months apart. After the first injection, I had no side effects. After the second injection, I developed excruciating pain in my right groin area. It was difficult to walk and I could actually hear my hip making a “bone on bone” creaking noise, along with a “popping” noise, like the toddler toy (a stick with a plastic dome on wheels that is filled with plastic balls that that are tossed around). I ended up needing a right hip replacement. About six months after taking Prolia, I developed osteonecrosis of the jaw, first on the lower right jawbone, next on the lower left. I’ve been taking a Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin K supplement and the osteonecrosis seems to have resolved. Before, you could see the bone where my gums seemed to have worn away. It was painful too. Now I have excruciating pain in my shoulders and they’re both making creaking and popping noises when I move, which means they’re bone on bone now. I’ve had fibromyalgia for about forty years (I’m 68), osteoporosis, and I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis about two years ago. It’s hard to know which condition is causing all the pain. The
You name them, I had them. Horrible side effects, it was like poison in my body, and I have permanent damage to my joint and muscles. I will never take another injection. Poison drug. Hope this helps someone to not have to go through what I went through and still going through!
Lots of side effects from prolia....headaches...vertigo...ear infections ...UTIs...tinnitus...hip pain
Think its aged me 10yrs...stopped after 2 shots and on a relay drug to stop spontaneous spinal fractures which you are at high risk of getting after taking more than one dose of prolia....
Re: Kazz (# 3018)
What! Kazz, this is a new issue I had not seen before! Spontaneous spinal fractures? I have felt extreme pain in my back - for no reason- I had not fallen or jarred myself at all. Usually feel it when I am stretching, slightly twisting to one side.
Can you tell more of what a relay drug is - what it does? Name of it?
My heart sinks ~ thought I was finally getting out of this Prolia Hell. ~ Darcy
Re: Kazz (# 3018)
I identify with you , Kazz. I have had the same issues including spontaneous spinal fractures, twice.! I advise everyone against this drug.
