Prolia Side Effects (Page 141)

Updated

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

I am going into my 3rd month post Prolia and have had nothing less than hell. I have probably had 3 days in total that were adverse effect free. This has ruined my life. Those that say they do not have adverse effects are the lucky ones and few and far between. They should also watch very closely as some people did not get these effects until after multiple injections and are now quite ill. It is “buyer beware” though it is recommended by everyone except god himself. I am never going to give up my fight to have someone pay for ruining my life and the sad part is that I fear it is not over. Be careful and do not go blindly into this treatment.

I am so sorry that you are going through so much. Hang in there, it gets better, but it takes time. It took me me 2 years post Prolia to feel better.

I advise everyone to review the Save Our Bones website. It certainly empowered me, plus provided women with useful information to strengthen my bones without Big Pharma.

Prolia, as I have stated so many times, has been a nightmare for me. The side effects are horrible, and I am still suffering from some of the side effects. Hair loss, skin problems, muscle and joint pain, vertigo and has had several falls due to the vertigo. Never had any of these problems before the deadly drug, Prolia. The same drug, as of 2012, is now being used for CANCER patients. As I stated before, the side effects for me and many others has been horrible, it has been poison for me. Wish I had been aware, before I ever took the first shot. I trusted my doctor, life altering mistake. I hope this post helps others.

I am glad that you continue to report your ongoing battle with Prolia side effects. All who have suffered with this drug should continue to reiterate the dreadful and unexpected side effects we have experienced. As I type this response I am brushing out the strands of hair ( with follicle) falling into the keyboard. It has been a year and one half since my last shot. Rashes, hair loss, jaw pain, and mouth infections continue. We need to keep reporting to each other.

Well I am still experiencing the same. I have asthma for 14 years and never until now had an asthmatic attack. Since my one and only injection I now have had 2 asthmatic attacks that sent me to the hospital. I also have had severe shortness breathe and now swelling of ankles, first left and now both. I have researched this drug extensively and these are also side effects. I am only 3 months post injection. Trying to find a lawyer in Toronto, Canada as I am not letting this go.

Re: Dawn (# 2805) Expand Referenced Message

Dawn, I too live in Toronto, and am living with the side effects of prolia. I have been off the drug for over 2 years and am still suffering from sores in the mouth which at times make eating very painful. I also lost a front tooth due to an infection which came on after my 3rd injection. I am still seeing an oral specialist who is still trying to help my problem. If you do find a lawyer in Toronto, I would be very interested.

Re: Maritere (# 2809) Expand Referenced Message

I have contacted the “contact page” that was in my message giving permission for both you and Dawn to contact me. You both would have to do the same. It is helpful to talk to others who are dealing with this horrible drug.

Re: Maritere (# 2795) Expand Referenced Message

Same thing here in CA. I've talked with three doctors and one physician's assistant. Same crappola. Indignant......."Oh, no, Prolia has nothing to do with it". My response, "The hell it doesn't". I don't know about Canada, but these doctors here are all sticking together. Not one damn bit of concern, they're worried about a lawsuit and the rise in their prices of medical malpractice. That's the bottom line everywhere, no less pharmaceutical manufacturers or doctors. For some reason, which I have not been able to get an intelligible answer, lawyers won't touch it. I've been trying to impress the importance of making a complaint with the FDA. Our foraging around from one lawyer or governmental department is not going to get us anywhere. FDA, or wherever, we've got to complain in unison. One letter, here to an attorney and there to another attorney, isn't going to work. What does work in so many cases, is the noise. The louder the better. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. You girls in Canada, let us know what you come up with and I'm sure we'll do the same.

Re: Susanna (# 2811) Expand Referenced Message

I reported my complaint to the FDA last year and to the drug company too. Don’t think it did a bit of good but if enough do it may help.

Re: Susanna (# 2811) Expand Referenced Message

I have had the same experience in Canada but do have doctor’s who have agreed with me on the fact that Prolia has caused my issues. I am going to see a respirologist next month due to my asthma worsening for no good reason. I have had it for 14 years and since my one and only injection have had 2 asthmatic attacks. I have also contacted a group of nurses called Legal Connect to see if they can provide any direction. I will let you know.

Re: Linda (# 2812) Expand Referenced Message

Ditto Linda, I, too, contacted the company twice and also Canada health. Nothing except platitudes. Actually the company told me they had never had any complaints!! I also contacted the media hoping they might do an investigative report on those who had had reactions to prolia. No response! Certainly, I have seen similar articles about other drugs. My granddaughter is studying broadcast journalism so she may be my answer. She graduates next year! At the moment I just continue to spread the word to anyone I speak to.

When your granddaughter graduates, maybe she can make Prolia her first investigative report, if things are resolved by then?

Re: Susanna (# 2815) Expand Referenced Message
I read on this post, sorry, but I don't remember where to find it again, that someone on here, said that their doctor agreed with them regarding the effects she was suffering from Prolia. The message from me, is the next time any doctor tells anyone of us that they agree about Prolia causing the various side effects......GET IT IN WRITING, MAKE SURE IT'S IN YOUR CHART, HAVE A WITNESS! Without it's being in writing or being witnessed, it's practically useless. The doctor can always say he never said that. You're luckier than I am. All the doctors I talk to, appear to be covering for the medication. Wonder who they're taking care of, Amgen or me.

Re: Linda (# 2812) Expand Referenced Message

I have also reported to Amgen in Australia and to the TGA, our equivalent to the FDA. My GP obtained an 'adverse events' report form from the Amgen sales rep! I submitted a lengthy and detailed account of my many side-effects, to what effect I don't know. The weight of evidence is mounting up, and I hope all of us can contribute to the process.

Dawn, hi, the proof is always in the pudding. They can say whatever they want. But, will they repeat what they said to you when push comes to shove?
