Prolia Side Effects (Page 12) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Reclast is just more of the same , posing the same dangers as Prolia and all the others.
I can tell you that I will never take another one of these drugs. My next blood work and DEXA are due in January, frankly I don’t expect a good report , but I refuse to ever take these drugs again.
My mother had a bad experience decades ago and refused to take it again; she is going strong at
91.
Re: Gloria (# 2858)
The doctors are making a fortune off of this drug and care little what effects it may have on our health. I just had another doctor try to put me on Reclass and the doctor was setting this appointment up with out ever discussing this treatment with me. I went for the bone scan test and the next thing the phone is ringing telling me to be at the hospital on this date for this treatment. Everything cancelled including the new doctor. My own doctor read the results of the bone scan and thought more vitamin D was the answer. That same doctor told me once before that vitamins were not any good! They all care little and know less!
My quility of life has changed after I was injected with prolix, I had pains in my legs and arms, I had difficulty walking, I ,am not going to have anymore injections of this drug , it is a dangerous drug , it should be removed from the market.
Prolia is a horrible drug. It has been a nightmare for me, I survive 7 shots before becoming educated about how deadly the side effects can be. Poison, should be taken off the market.
Re: Sal (# 2922)
Well it is now 9 months post injection and still having issues. I used to be able and predict when the adverse effects would happen but now not so much. It happens at any time, things like modules on my finger knuckles, angioedema of my right side of face and right ear, severe joint pain, stomach problems, sore right side of skull and I only had one injection. This is poison for sure and I am not going to let this go. I will keep you all informed as to how I will proceed.
Re: Dawn (# 2923)
Best wishes to you. I hope you get some relief.
It is poison for sure.
Medicos are not going to advise against it, Big Pharma is not going to take it off the market, and neither is the FDA. It is up to us to spread the word and educate others.
Re: Dawn (# 2923)
I refused to take it about 8 years ago after reading about side effects, l am now 58. I also stopped various drugs for Osteoporosis 28 years ago and started exercises instead, l am yet to start more specific exercises with The Bone Clinic under supervision.
Re: Sal (# 2924)
There are almost 3,000 comments in this thread -- does the FDA access this site? How many negative reports about this drug does it take to make a difference? It is frustrating because every side effect we report to our doctors is dismissed as not linked to this drug..... only here, with each other, is credence given to the problem.
Sal (# 2820) --
hi,
Suffered with this as well.
Try "Xylimelts" for DRY mouth. I use them [ 1] at night. It neutralizes acids to a PH of 8. When I took a break, "burning tongue" came back.
Go easy on SALT and tomatoe products. Folic acid tablets are often helpfull.
Oh yeah, I'm here because I said NO to "prolia." Actonel was bad enough, but at least you can quit those.
Always remember, Can NOT quit a "Shot" if you have side effects.
Also , if you have reactions to any vaccines or shots, stay clear from shots like this.
Doctors don't know everything, no matter how much you trust them.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST< AND TRUST YOURSELF.
I have been on prednisone 10mg daily for polymyalgia rheumatica for three years with benefit, but a bone density scan showed low bone mass. Therefore I agreed to try Prolia, having read the possible side effects. The first shot 13 months ago didn’t seem to bother me, and I can’t remember too many problems after the second shot.
I had my third shot three weeks ago and I believe this is causing the very severe generalized back pain and pain in my arms. It is so bad that I have to take Percocet 5mg three times a day.
I will tough it out, but that was my last shot of Prolia.
Re: Old Guy (# 2939)
Prolix is a horror. The pain you described is common. One thing to consider is the possibility of Hypocalcemia, which causes muscle pain and stiffness. I myself experienced this and had a hard time getting Dr,’s to listen to me. I saw three Dr.’s who blew me off, statin, calling my symptoms “ Just Fibromyalgia “. Finally, the fourth one listened and ordered the bold tests; as it turned out, my Calcium was dangerously low.
Be well
My advice to anyone considering this drug is : DON’T !!!!!! I rue the day I allowed myself to be “Gaslighted “ into taking this against my better judgement. Instead I recommend a site called:
Save Our Bones, s natural treatment for Osteoporosis.
Hi. Darcy here. Had 2 Prolia Shots ~ Jan and June of 2019. Researched and found Medschat, went back and connected many of my new issues to Prolia. Since shots are so far apart, you don’t figure these atrocities to be due to Prolia, but my gut tells me they are. Was pretty healthy prior to this. Started eating better in April of 2019 following the Plant Paradox by Dr Gundry which I feel has saved me from worse symptoms.
My symptoms so far:
1) Skin cancer. Had a Basel Cel removed, and now a squamous including MOHS Surgery.
2) Hair Loss. My hair is found all over the house!
3) Scalp issues. Have small scales, crusty bumps on my scalp.
4) Leg Weakness. Upon standing, suddenly, pins & needles in both legs and HAVE TO sit or I will fall!
5) Finger knuckles enlarged. Joint disfigurement within one year!
6) Vertigo. Often Unsteady on feet.
7) Lethargy. Am fatigued a lot. Can’t seem to get a lot done in the day.
8) Popping, cracking joints. Bones and joints loudly pop ~ all over: toes, arms, legs. Not normal for me.
9) Cold spells. Reading or watching TV and I get cold All over. Inside and in a chair with a warm blanket ~ lasts about 5 minutes or so.
I pray all our Prolia issues abate over time. You are not alone as this website attests. Keep researching, digging and confronting your Doctors when they push any drug on you!
Re: Darcy (# 2953)
I am with you on 2,3,4,7 and 9. It has been two years since my shot,,, hair still not recovered, scalp full of bumps and bumps that bleed, fatigue is indescribable.. just drag through the day and feel 100 years old; None of these symptoms prior to Prolia... skin just dried out and a mess in spite of moisturizers, and even collagen supplements... YEESH!!!
Re: Gloria (# 2964)
Well said, Gloria. !
After 4 years I am finally becoming more active.
Currently my bone density is in the danger zone, but I refuse any medication. Now that I am med free( including cholesterol meds which caused the same symptoms). I am finally increasing activity. Certainly the amount of time I spent in bed for the last 4 years must have contributed to my bone
loss! In addition to the poor eating due to the GI distress caused by the meds. We he same goes for cholesterol meds.
Everyone. check out Save Our Bones it is full of useful information, plus the latest findings.
Re: Nikki (# 2973)
I agree that plant based eating and exercise is more productive than these
poisonous drugs.
I wish everyone good health.
Re: Betsy (# 2979)
You are correct but they can become serious very quickly. The problem can develop into asthma. You have to read more and dig deeper as there may be other adverse events you could experience. I have been dealing with this since March 7/19. This drug is a poison not a medication for osteoporosis.
Re: Maritere (# 2982)
I am be a similar situation. My asthma was well under control until the one and only Prolia injection then I had 3 severe asthma attacks that landed me I hospital and now have major issues with my lungs. I have been diagnosed with bronchoectasis. The doctors can’t figure anything out until I research and find that this is a Prolia issue. Very frustrating. The issue is this drug has altered our immune system and the severity is unknown. I am now seeing an allergist and immunologist so will see what she has to say.
Re: Nikki (# 2987)
Thank you. I think it will take a bit more investigative work to figure it out. But it’s surprising how many responses I’ve gotten about breathing and other reactions. Enough that I know I won’t take a second shot.
i did not have any for the first 4 shots, but after that I had and am still having most of the horrible side effects of this poison. It is a horrible drug and should be taker off the market! Now being used for bone cancer patients, a form of Chemotherapy, they should tell us that in advance. Wish I had done research before ever taking the first one, I trusted my doctor. Big mistake! Hope this is helpful. Gloria
